Please pray for me. I became Catholic from Protestantism and now I realize that in Catholicism you can loose your salvation. I feel I have no assurance of salvation and each day I am scarred im going to hell. I pray for peace of soul and mind. Please pray for me. Thank you!

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

Perhaps you could make an appointment and speak with your priest. He best might be able to give you some sense of peace in accordance with Catholic teaching.

Mary.

Hi Mary

Good advice. I just talked with my priest and he told me that God wants all people to be saved and go to heaven. So if I love God and want to go to heaven thats what God wants as well. He told me I need to trust more in God’s love for me and mine for him. Good advice. But I still don’t feel assurance. What about “there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus” and the work we need to do is “believe” in the one He has sent. I just get so confused and just wanna know for sure Im going to heaven. But I guess there is no way to know for sure. Just I love God and know He loves me and try to do my best each day.

Hi Mary

… the work we need to do is “believe” in the one He has sent…
Yes, and the work we need to do to believe really is work - it takes an ongoing effort to study, learn, ask questions and resolve points of confusion. If you just leave things and allow a doubt to fester, it tends to reduce your faith in my experience. It is best to keep at it, trying to find answers, praying, reading the bible and asking questions.

That said, I’ve learnt one important principle of late, and that is when there is a doubt you need to give God the benefit of the doubt, rather than immediately falling away. Give Him the benefit while trying to find an answer. Of late I’ve prayed that God would let me find an answer and I’ve opened the bible at random, only to find the answer right in front of me!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon elohimrules in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
    And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.
Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
    Amen.
Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

I’m really glad you talked to your priest and his words seem to be words of wisdom indeed. I’m sorry you don’t feel assurance. I imagine this is the work of Satan to plant seeds of doubt in your heart and soul. I will pray that soon you will see that God desires all to be saved and if that is your goal too you are on the right track.

St. Michael the Archangel defend us in battle.

Mary.

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that any one who fled to thy protection,
implored thy help or sought thy intercession,
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly unto thee,
O Virgin of virgins my Mother;
to thee do I come,
before thee I stand,
sinful and sorrowful;
O Mother of thy Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions,
but in thy clemency hear and answer me.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee;
Blessed art thou among women,
And blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Our Father,
who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

O most holy Heart of Jesus,
fountain of every blessing,
I adore You, I love You,
and with a lively sorrow for my sins,
I offer You this poor heart of mine.
Make me humble, patient, pure,
and wholly obedient to Your will.
Grant, good Jesus,
that I may live in You and for You.
Protect me in the midst of danger,
comfort me in all my afflictions,
give me health of body,
assistance in my temporal needs,
Your blessing on all that I do,
and the grace of a holy death.

Amen.

Thank you all for praying for me. I believe God gave me an answer to my doubts the other day. He said “Trust in God, Trust in Jesus” Its not just about believing/faith or doctrine but a matter of trusting him daily, daily walking with him in union. Even Solomon admitted he didnt understand everything and as Isaiah says who really understands the mind of God or gives Him council. There comes a point where yes, its good to understand as much as we can but at some point God is telling me “trust in me, trust in my Son Jesus!” Join in a relationship with me as you are and have been and trust I wont abandon you to hell. Trust that I love you and want whats best for you and will lead you on the path of everlasting life! Thank you Lord for your answer to prayer, I now feel assurance more because Im trusting in Him and His Son while I try to do my best each day to follow Him closely. I believe that is the Way towards sainthood! 😉 Thanks everyone! God answered your prayers!!!

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.
