My son was dx’d with Type 1 Diabetes. Even though it has been a year and a half, it has not gotten any easier. My heart is broken and I feel I cannot stand up under the crushing weight of this cross.

This has been really hard for my little boy, and even though he tries to be a trooper about it, this has been VERY hard for him.

He struggles to reconcile the fact that God loves him, and that the same God allowed him to get this wretched disease. His faith has been shaken, and it has been hard to see him try to maintain his faith while at the same time feeling abandoned by God.

I have 3 other children, and I homeschool so alone time is almost naught. My happy mask is faltering, and the tears come whther I want them to or not. I have to be so careful because my husband is Type 1 and blames himself for our son,s disease. So, I cannot share my pain with him and we cannot comfort eachother. he walks around like a deer caught in headlights.

This has been hard for our whole family, but the burden of his care falls on me, and I am VERY VERY underqualified for the job. I have severe ADD, and I am always scared because one mistake in calculations, or to forget something could mean severe and disastrous consequences for my son. The pressure at times is unbearable.

I also have PTSD due to severe mistreatment and abuse during my last birthing experience at our local hospital. And now before every dctrs appointment, I spend two days before throwing up, and severe anxiety. many times I end up rescheduling and it is so hard to get my son to the doctors. To trust those I fear is very hard.

I am having a hard time with htis as of late, and really need some prayer support.

Please pray for my family and for all those who suffer their children having a terrible disease.

I have just been having a really bad few days. Everytime I am alone for a second, the tears come immediately, as if they are waiting for me.

I don’t mind that I have been chosen to suffer this cross, I am just a little saddened that I have been left with so little grace to bear it with.

:gopray: Father God continue to work in this families life. Continue to strengthen ANA as she care for her family while dealing with her own issues. Be with that special boy who is trying so hard to withstand this disease with grace. Help the father to know that he isn’t meant to feel guilt forever. Release him. Release ANA from her fears or better yet grant her grace in order to walk through them. Father, you tell us that You are not far from the needs of your children. Thank You for how You have keep this family together.

May the Blessed Mother pray for all of us.

Yes, my young nephew has type 1 diabetes, and it took a while for him to adjust. Naturally it was also difficult for my sister, but they have learned to cope, as I pray you will. No one is to blame for such autoimmune illnesses. I have Coeliac disease, and it’s a dietary pain, but also an autoimmune illness. I can identify a little at how difficult it is for your son to be different, as I feel like the worst nuisance sometimes when I’m with friends or wider family, and it’s an issue with Communion…and as I go to daily Mass, ongoingly. So I feel for your son having to require extra fuss. I know from my nephew’s experience, the pitfalls and dangers of your son’s illness. :hug1:

**Jesus, please give Ana healing from her anxiety attacks and distress.
Jesus, please give Ana strategies to deal with her concerns regarding medication, and with her ADD.
Please help her to overcome the trauma of her birthing experience. Help her to overcome her traumatic fear of doctors.
Please Jesus, give this dear girl peace of heart and mind.
Please comfort and heal her.

Please help Ana with her home-schooling.
Let her see what a wonderful person she is in Your eyes.

Please help her husband from feeling guilty at having an autoimmune illness. We can’t help our genetics! Please help him to realise this. Help these two to find ways of healthily dealing with this genetic issue, and give him comfort and peace.

Jesus please help this little boy to understand You didn’t cause him to have the disease. Let him experience Your love. Please help him to cope with the disease in a healthy psychological way. Because if we have these things, they are part of our reality.

Mother Mary, please comfort this family and help the to cope with all their difficulties and heartaches**

God bless you Ana. I hope so much that you will find peace and comfort soon. We will all be praying for you and your family :grouphug: Love, Trishie

Mother Mary, you suffered so very much for your child Jesus. Only God knows how much inner pain you endured, not only through His calvary and crucifixion. But from birth, you and Joseph had to always be on a high guard, in order to protect His life. How much anxiety, sadness and fear, you both must of experienced. Now we come to you, Holy Mother, in prayer. Asking that you and Saint Joseph intercede for this family, that are hurting for their little boy. Pray to the Holy Spirit to strengthen them, the way He strengthened you both.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art though amog women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen

(If you haven’t already, keeping a daily log on the kitchen counter, of the times you give him his daily medication, will help you keep up with the info, and calm a bit the anxiety of not knowing when or if you gave him his meds. I do this with my husband )

Praying for your son, your husband, all your other children, and especially for you.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, asked thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto thee O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother. To thee I come, before thee I stand sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Praying for your intentions…

Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen

Just watched a news item last night on the use of Vitamin D in the treatment and reversal of Type 1 Diabetes in children, might be something to ask your medical people about it.

Thank you everyone for your prayers. I really need your continued prayer support. The darkness is so pervasive and I feel blind and helpless against the onslought of despair.

I am trying so hard to stay “up” for my kids, but I feel I am reaching the end of my strength. Every step I take, I am sure has exhausted my strength. But somehow I take one more. I don’t know how long I can keep this up. I am so tired and I just want to run away and hide somewhere.

Dear Lord, comfort this woman she is suffering. You recognize her. Hold her son and her husband in your sacred heart as they live with this disease. Keep all of her children in your care. Amen

Lord Jesus, let your Spirit bless Ana, comforting and strengthening her, blessing her with your divine grace and mercy. Please let your love gently touch her, her son and her husband. Please grant Ana your shoulder to lean on, your strength to rely on, lifting her up in your arms and sheltering her with your grace. Please, Lord, attend her and send your holy angels to watch over her. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Virgin Mary, pray for Ana and her family.
