I haven’t been on this forum for a long time…in a good sense. Now I’m back because I need lots of prayers for my marriage, children, and my mental health.

I am at the point where I’m breaking down at least once a day. I lost much confidence in my job. It doesn’t look like I know what I’m doing anymore. I am shutting off people around me and isolating myself. I want to be alone. I don’t want to go to work, but I have to. I went to counseling sessions paying lots of money out of my small paychecks, but the only catholic therapist available in my area did not work for me.

This Lenten season seems to be a real challenge for me. Please pray, especially for my poor children…

%between%It’s miserable to feel as you are no so I hope that you do have friends and family to offer their kind support.
I’m also hoping that you are able to eat healthily and get enough rest, and if their is any underlying health issues, that you will find out, and be able to regain your strength.
I ask God that if there is any issue with those practical aspects of your life, that you will receive the guidance that you need.

God bless you in your private life, in your work and social life.

I will gladly pray for you, I am sorry that you have not received the help you need. Please try again somewhere else, therapist vary in their approaches and you may need to see several before you are able to get on track to being healed. I will pray for you to find that person. Hang in there!

Praying for your intentions.

May Simon of Cyrene help you carry your cross.

I hope you get the help to overcome this soon take care.

I find this time of year to be more difficult… are you getting outside at all? Can you take a walk during your lunchbreak or walk around the playground while your children play in it? Or maybe your husband could watch the children and you could take a walk then? Go out and watch spring open up–even weeds have beautiful flowers; you just have to get close to them to see them, but the tiny detaining and perfection are worth it!

Does your family pray the Rosary together? Or at least you and yor children (like my family)? Or maybe on you way to work?

I will pray for you also.

Thank you everyone for your prayer and kind words.

I don’t have time…or at least I’m not good at managing time. I leave the house, drop off the little ones at daycare, work, come home, cook dinner, and put the younger ones to sleep. I usually fall asleep with them. I bring back home some work but it never gets done because of that. I rarely have lunch at work because I usually work through it.

My husband is too busy with his own stuff. He does a lot for the kids but not really for me. He would watch the kids while I lay down in bed over the weekend, but isn’t happy about it after awhile. He never checks on me or asks me how I’m doing even after I tell him I don’t feel good. I guess that’s one of the biggest disappointments I am feeling lately.

I say a brief prayer with the kids on my way to daycare as well as a decade or two on my way to work. I often feel emotional while praying now.

Thank you. I don’t have any family members around in my area. I had an opportunity to hang out with my close friends the other day for the first time in a year. My husband said no. He said if he doesn’t get to hang out with his friends then I can’t either…

It is sad that your husband blocks you from needed friendship and support.
I hope God will open his heart to be more understanding and generous towards you.
It’s draining to feel like an emotional prisoner.
Can you enjoy anyone’s company at lunchtimes? Some laughter and chat can be a healthy outlet.
I hope life will improve for you.

Thank you. I do have a friend who is kind and understanding at work. My lunch time and hers are not exactly the same but I do visit her after the work hours at least one day a week.

Like you said, it’s very draining to feel like an emotional prisoner. I feel trapped. I feel that I’m no good for anything and want to quit everything. 😦

I’m sorry to hear of your struggles…I can relate to a point.
I lost confidence in my job some months ago… and i felt useless. But as soon as two bullies were removed, it’s amazing how much better i feel about it all.

Do people tell you that you’re doing a good job? Do you have any positive feedback?

Life can be a drain sometimes… especially when we have children as well.

It sounds like you are depressed. Can you talk to your husband about this?

it’s not very kind to not allow you to go out with friends. You need time out too.

Here’s a prayer that has helped me over the past few months.

And i will pray for you too. XX

St. Anthony, dear friend and heavenly guide,
be present to me now,
and let me know your compassion.
Pray to our dear Lord for me,
that I may experience calmness and peace in my emotions.

Help me to grow in faith and hope.
Protect me from all that displeases God,
and obtain for me serenity of mind and spirit.

I place all my confidence in you, St. Anthony,
and I pray for mercy,
grace and God’s gently goodness.

Amen.

Thank you for kind words and prayer. No, I am not given positive feedback at work. It’s rather opposite. I hear what I’m doing wrong everyday. I also don’t have time to be alone there either. I am in the middle of a period where everything goes wrong. Or at least it looks like it…It’s like I screw up on every opportunity to redeem myself. Nothing major but little things pile up, one after another.

I’m glad your situation was improved by removing the bullies. That is not happening in my situation…unfortunately.

I haven’t really talked to my husband for awhile. I am turned off about everything around myself right now, especially him and work. He does much with our kids but that’s about it. I don’t want to disappoint myself any more. I just want to get out of here sometimes. I contacted a local Catholic therapist, but she is not available at the times/days I am…

Bless your heart. You sound completely overwhelmed and frankly, depressed. You need a break. Tell your DH that you need one and put your foot down. It doesn’t make you selfish, it makes you healthy. Would you deny yourself food and oxygen? Of course not. This is just as necessary.
Do what you need to do, then take the kids and let DH have a break as well.
Do you have household help of any sort or just your husband? You may want to check into getting a teen from your church to come in occasionally to help out, even if you don’t go anywhere except your room to lie down.
I will pray for you!
