Hello all! I am asking for prayer and strenght in my new faith. I have recently embraced the Catholic way,and could’nt be happier! However,my wife is a diehard protestant, and is giving me much grief about attending Sunday Mass. She says that she won’t step foot into a Catholic church, and my going to mass is breaking us up. She also stated that I seemed more spiritual than before, and she feels an emptiness inside that is causing us to drift apart. Please pray for her,and for me,as this is leaving me in tears, though I don’t want to deny my faith I have found to be so precious to me. Thank you

I’m terribly sorry that your faith is causing such a rift in your marriage. Hopefully this is one of those challenges that eventually makes you stronger people and a stronger couple. I am praying for both of you. I pray that God grant you both wisdom, compassion, and patience.

Lord Jesus,
We pray for this couple experiencing problems within their marriage. Grant them the grace to persevere in times of doubt and indifference. All goodness comes from you and through you and we pray you bless this couple so they can remain united in faith and love.

Fill this wife Lord, with your Holy Spirit so she comes to know the truth and remains respectful of her husbands choices. We ask this in Jesus name.
Amen

Praying for you and your wife, asking all the angels and saints in Heaven to join us in prayer.

Mother Mary, please make your intentions in this matter come true.

Hail Mary…

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Praying for you and your wife.

I converted to Catholicism from a Protestant church. Perhaps you could try telling your wife that if you are more spiritual than before and she feels an emptiness, that it shows that you’re on the right path and she’s not. Perhaps books like “Rome Sweet Home” by Scott and Kimberly Hahn and “Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic” by David B Currie might help? I can also highly recommend “Reasons to Believe” by Scott Hahn. Scott Hahn and his wife Kimberly converted to Catholicism from a Protestant church and Scott Hahn was a pastor who was firmly convinced that the Catholic Church was unbiblical. Also browse the bookshop here, I found “The Essential Catholic Survival Guide” by the staff of Catholic Answers very useful.

I hope and pray that this helps. I’ll be keeping you in my prayers.

will offer Mass for you both this evening.
I do know where you are coming from; as Boulder 257 says, this time of difficulty will draw you and your wife closer. Try looking at it from her point of view: she sees you steaming ahead spiritually but she feels spiritually dry. our natural tendency is to draw people to where we are - it’s so much easier than to travel ourselves. Pray with her, pray for her, but most of all keep walking with her on her journey of faith.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death
Amen.

St. Jude, pray for them!

Lord please guide this situation for our friend and his wife.Amen

Memorare (Prayer to Our Lady)
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.
Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

For you and your wife

Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be
done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil. Amen

Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee
blessed art thou among women and
blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus
Holy Mary mother of God pray for us
sinners now and at the hour of our death
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now ever shall be world without end Amen

Thank you all very much for your prayers and kind words. They have been a great help in giving me peace within. It was because I would’nt take comunion with her in her church last sunday that she kinda lost it! But it don’t feel right to me to recieve a symbolic comunion anymore. This has been a true test of Faith for me,and I ask for continued prayers for my wife’s acceptance of my faith through the catholic church. thank you for your support.

Welcome home! Perhaps you can take this opportunity to grow in two ones: first, in your own faith, which is being tested by this situation; and second, by gently and lovingly offering Catholicism as the Living Water that can fill the spiritual emptiness your wife is feeling. Over time, maybe you can show her that Protestantism, while still Christian, is not the fullness of the Faith and is thus leaving her hungry for more, as someone who eats only a piece of bread becomes hungry again after only a little while. Show her that only the Church founded by Christ Himself, guided by His Spirit, the home of Himself as the Eucharist, can give us completion and fullness, as well as eternity. I pray for your strength in this trial, that you may continually convert yourself to Christ throughout your life, that your wife may find in your new faith the fullness of spiritual life that she is hungering for, and that both of you may be forgiven of all your sins. I ask for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, your and your wife’s guardian angels, and St. Paul, a dear friend to all converts. God bless. 🙂

Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen.
