Hi everyone. You may be familiar with my situation, being that I ask for prayers a lot. :o
(If you’re not, here’s a summary: my DH is unemployed (well, he has sporadic contracting work but nothing full-time) and can’t find a job. My heart breaks daily as I leave my DD to travel 60 miles round trip to go to a job I can’t stand (health insurance is through my job). I have constant morning sickness (being eased a little by prescription medication) and am obviously exhausted with being pregnant and my long work days.)

The prayer I’m asking for today is that my boss will be open and willing to letting me work from home a few days a week. It is completely possible to do my job from home, and she has recently let a woman who just had a baby start working from home a few days a week. I am nervous to ask (because she has denied my request twice in the past) but since she is allowing this other woman to do this, I think it’s a good time to ask again.

Anyway, even 2 or 3 days at home would make things a bit easier. Please, if you can pray that my boss will allow me to do this and will be kind and compassionate toward me, I would appreciate it so much. Thank you in advance for all those who kindly give their time and prayers for our family. :grouphug:

I do hope your boss will allow you to work from home. A lot depends on your boss and the type of work you do. Many years ago I worked in the Medical Records Dept. of a hospital. My children were very small and I had problems with baby sitters. I was divorced and getting nothing from my ex. I asked my boss if I could work from home and she agreed. It worked out just great! I was able to be with my kids during the day and then after they went to bed at night I worked on my medical reports. I could set my own hours so some nights I worked for several hours and other nights I didn’t. As long as the work gets done, it didn’t matter. I really hope and pray your boss is as understanding as mine was. It really does make a world of difference when you can be home and still work. Good luck.

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Prayers and Intercessions

Let us bless our Saviour, who by his resurrection has brought light to the world. Let us humbly ask him:
  • Lord, lead us in your footsteps.
Lord, in our morning prayer we recall your resurrection:
may the hope of glory illuminate our entire day.
Receive, Lord, our prayers and promises,
the first-fruits of our day.
Grant that today we may journey forward in your love:
may all that happens be for our good and the good of others.
Grant, Lord, that our light may shine before men
so that they see our good deeds and give glory to the Father.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Lord Jesus Christ, you are the true light that lights all men’s paths to salvation.
Give us the power, we pray you,
to prepare for you the ways of peace and justice.

You live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

I have remembered you in my morning rosary.

Dear Lord I pray that you see it as your infinite generosity to grant this intention. Please if it is your will help her boss see it as an act of mercy to let this woman work from home. May his kindness be returned in his eternal reward. Thank you dear Lord for hearing the pleas of your children as we try to care for one another. Amen

Praying for your request- I really hope it works out for you. Let us know, OK?

I’m praying for you and your family.

Prayerfully,

Sorry to be late on the train…I am praying for you!

Father, hold Belle10 in your hands and soften her supervisor’s heart. We have total confidence in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you all so much for your prayers. My DH thought it might be better to wait one more week before approaching my boss, to give the other girl (who they’re “testing” working at home) a little more time to make it something positive. So, I plan to talk with her (my boss) next week. I’ll probably bump this thread that day :o because I’ll definitely need some strength, but in the meantime, thank you so much! May God bless all of you who give of your time and prayers for others. :grouphug: :crossrc:

Dearest Blessed Mother, wrap your loving mantle around Belle and her family and present her to your Divine Son. Please obtain from Him for Belle the softening of her boss’ heart so that she will grant Belle’s request to work from home, and for Belle’s husband steady, employment with health insurance benefits. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of death. Amen.

Thank you all so much! :grouphug:

God, please bless these kind people.
