Hi, to make a long story short, my husband and I have been together for almost 4 years. I am wanting to return to the Catholic Church (born and raised Catholic). I strayed away for a few years and met my husband, who is Southern Baptist. I feel as if my return will complicate our marriage. I would eventually like us both to become Catholic (but I seriously doubt he’d ever consider it) and raise children in the Church. We are so open and honest about things in our relationship, yet this is something that I feel is so hard to bring up to him. I am just asking for prayers on what to do and if my return to the Church is the right decision that God will guide us both to his Church.

Thank you!!

In Christ,

“Be at Peace,” by Saint Francis de Sales
Do not look forward in fear to the changes in life; rather, look to them with full hope that as they arise, God, Whose very own you are, will lead you safely through all things; and when you cannot stand it, God will carry you in His Arms.

Do not fear what may happen tomorrow; the same understanding Father Who cares for you today will take care of you then and every day.

He will either shield you from suffering or will give you unfailing strength to bear it. Be at peace, and put aside all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

Prayer for Gods Guidance
Father in Heaven,
You made me Your child
and called me to walk in the Light of Christ.
Free me from darkness
and keep me in the Light of Your Truth.
The Light of Jesus has scattered
the darkness of hatred and sin.
Called to that Light,
I ask for Your guidance.
Form my life in Your Truth,
my heart in Your Love.
Through the Holy Eucharist,
give me the power of Your Grace
that I may walk in the Light of Jesus
and serve Him faithfully.

PolishK,

Be assured of my prayers.

May the Holy Spirit guide you through this process and provide answers to help you move forward.

Peace,
Kathleen

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

The Lord delights in rescuing those in difficult situations…who rely on Him…and welcome His will. You have my prayers as does your husband. I personally NEVER thought I would become Catholic…I’m entering the Church this Easter due largely to the faithful witness of others in person, in books, on catholic radio, on EWTN. I was “evangelical protestant” through and through but the Lord heard the prayers of His faithful Catholics who prayed on my behalf…even if I was unknown to them. I am sooo grateful and you begin with the right thing…prayer…seeking the Lord for your husband. Your faithfulness and love will surely change his mind and heart…I am certain.👍 There is not witness stronger than a faithful, loving wife.

Let Nothing Disturb You
Let nothing disturb you. Let nothing frighten you. All things pass. God does not change. Patience achieves everything. Whoever has God lacks nothing. God alone suffices.

God has no body now on earth but yours; no hands but yours; no feet but yours. Yours are the eyes through which the compassion of Christ must look out on the world. Yours are the feet with which He is to go about doing good. Yours are the hands with which He is to bless His people.

Amen.

(St. Teresa of Ávila, 1515-1582)

In my prayers, Krista! :signofcross:

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thine intercession was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto thee, O Virgin of virgins, my mother; to thee do I come, before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Lord, of course, anyone returning to the Catholic Church is making the right decision. Please help convert the heart of PolishK’s husband to be tolerant of his wife’s decision to return home to her Catholic faith. Also, please put on his heart the desire to convert to the Catholic Church. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.
