I’m having some struggles right now - mainly with having faith and some discernment things - but usually I would seek help from friends and ask them to pray for me. Thing is I’m away from those particular friends right now and don’t have a way of asking them to pray for me. So I’ve been turning to the intercession of saints to help me out. As of now I’ve only asked for the intercession of my patron saint (St.Clare) and my paternal grandmother who is in Heaven. And of course I’m praying like crazy to God:D but the more prayers the better. Plus I don’t quite know how to go about praying in regards to certain things, which is another reason why I’m turning to the saints right now.

What I’m asking is does anyone have suggestions of saints I should ask to pray for me? There are so many of them and I don’t know which to choose >_<
If anyone has a saint that has helped them before I would really appreciate it if you could share with me.

Also, if anyone has any suggestions about different forms of prayer I would appreciate that also:)

Thank you in advance and God bless you all!

Good St. Joseph has never let me down.

Here’s a novena to him from EWTN: ewtn.com/Devotionals/novena/joseph.htm

You could try asking him to pray that you be granted the gift of discernment, obedience to God’s will, and signs of confirmation once you feel you’ve discerned it.

Good luck

You could pray the Litany of the Saints, that will dispose you to accept the intercession of all of them.

Do you have a confirmation saint? (or is that Clare)?

Also recommending steeping yourself in the peace and trust flowing from the Blessed Sacrament.

“Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Pray for us sinners now and in the hour of our death.”

I’m not Catholic - but I have been praying this with the Rosary and it is transforming. I’m praying for you now - ask for Mary’s intercession and pray to Christ. Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy. He will, you can count on it 👍

Like someone mentioned above, St. Joseph would definitely be a good one to ask for help. He’s my favorite Saint and has always helped me. Also ask your guardian angel to help keep you in the path of light. Of course don’t forget Our Blessed Mother, say the Rosary often.

St. Anthony not only helps with lost items but also when we “feel lost/confused” and in need of help. I cannot count the number of times this Saint has helped me. (Thks. St. Anthony)

Saint Philomena, for just about EVERYTHING! And I wear her cord, also:)

Our Blessed Mother (Queen of Saints!)

St. Micheal the Archangel… Defender of Souls…

St. Therese of Lisieux… Doctor of the Church…

These are three of my (our) very best Friends. They are powerful intercessors (Especially, Our Lady). All of the other suggestions are also excellent. God bless you.

Here’s a list of topics for which you can find the patron saint. Hold down Ctrl-F, then type in the topic for which you want to search, and it will take you to the link through which you can find a list of patron saints. Many of the saint’s pages also include links to prayers for special intentions.

As for different forms of prayer, lately I’ve been more faithful to praying morning and evening prayer from my Shorter Christian Prayer book. It’s a shorter version of the Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Divine Office, the prayer of the church. It revolves around the Psalms.

Also, prayer at certain times of the day is also helpful. The Angelus is traditionally said at 6 AM, noon, and at 6 PM. The Divine Mercy Chaplet is nice to say @ 3 PM, as is the Stations of the Cross. The Holy Rosary is a fine prayer that can be said anytime you have about 20 minutes to devote to it.

Lectio Divina is a beautiful form of prayer as well.

You’ll want to be sure you’re making a Morning Offering every morning when you wake, and a short examination of conscience each night before going to bed. Another very good practice is making a Spiritual Communion often throughout the day.

That oughta keep you busy… 😃 God bless!
