I’m a relatively new Catholic. My ex-husband was Catholic and we had a Catholic wedding, but I decided to undertake the “conversion” on my own as he wasn’t at all practicing. Due to a number of actions on his part, the marriage did not work out. I tried extremely hard to make it work, but it was clear he did not want to be married and was not taking our vows seriously.
I want to continue to participate fully in the Church, but I’m feeling extremely discouraged about seeking an annulment. I have thought that maybe I would just switch back to a Protestant church, but I simply do not experience the fullness of God in Protestant churches no matter how hard I try.
Has anyone here gone through the tribunal process for a relatively short lived marriage? I understand how serious the sacrament of marriage is and I understand how important it is for it to go through the tribunal process, but the thought is exhausting. However, it’s extremely important to me to be able to marry in the Church if the annulment is granted, to have children and be able to fully participate with them in Church life, etc.
