Need some help from Charismatics with some debating

Hi,

I am debating on another site with a couple of people who are dead set against the CCR and speaking in tongues etc but this site has very few Charismatics who can assist me in replying to posts, and I am wondering if there are any Charismatics who are willing to take a look at a couple of threads and assist me in writing appropriate replies and/or assist me on the site to reply to some of the statements.

I’m not quite sure it should be debated in the first place. Really all that needs to be said is that it is an approved practice in the Church. It isn’t a bad thing.

As far as aiding you, the Holy Father has writings on it (the Ratzinger Report Chapter 10 has a bit on it at the end, and elsewhere I am sure.)

vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/messages/youth/documents/hf_ben-xvi_mes_20070720_youth_en.html is all about the Holy Spirit and its renewal in the life of the Church.

Now, people are always going to argue against the Charismatic Renewal and they can be correct at times because the Renewal can get a little crazy, but there is also much fruit within it. I’m not a so-called “charismatic” but I was reverted at a Steubenville conference, so I know these fruits firsthand.

Now, I’m not encouraging you to argue, but if you feel like you absolutely need to, go right on ahead.
