I need some help with this last email from a friend who’s heart is obviously in the right place but God surly is not telling her something contrary to the Church. Here is her last email.
If you have private insurance and like it keep it --nothing will change for you- no one is punishing you for working hard- but we give to ceasar what is ceasars right? we are told in the Bible by Christ himself to pay taxes and the fact is if you pay taxes and into medicaid and if you pay into medicaid -part of that goes into maternity medicaid where if a woman has 3 or 4 kids already are asked if they want their tubes tied witch is paid for by your taxes and what about the health department i believe they recieve federal money (your taxes) to pay for those condoms and even offer low cost vasectomies – this sounds like im being argumentative in text, but if we were talking i am just saying these things in a soft voice
] I have a 23 year old daughter that “didnt get into the pool until a medical condition arises” she came down with a simple UTI as she is a college student, and works as a waitress at night did not have $150.00 to go to a Dr. This started on a friday-- she doesnt say anything to me until Monday morning when shes doubled over in pain and is running a high fever-- i rush her to the hospital- it has moved to her kidneys her fever is so high they keep her over night-- now 150.00 problem has turned into 3000.00 after going through the finances they just write it off-- who picks up that tab? we have a broken system-- its not fair to anyone-- if we had more compitition in health insurance as we do car insurance-- she could have probably bought some cheap barebones health insurance policy from a talking lizard and saved tax payers and hospitals 3 grand— people just dont go for preventive healthcare that could save their lives or at least cut longterm costs because the premiums are outrageous
So I love you dude-- but i’ve jumped over the fence-- No American should suffer because they cant afford to go to a Dr.
and you know today after i read some of your responses i went upstairs and opened the Bible-- just randomly and started to read and it was about Jesus on his way to the temple and aparently he cursed a fig tree or somthing-- but anyway he passes this guy that starts calling after him and his disciples are kinda brushing the guy off because he’s a poor beggar but Jesus stops and calls him to him and asks what he needs and he says im blind -i want to see (this may not be exact) so Jesus heals him-- and I thought to myself at that moment " good thing he didn’t ask for his insurance card first"
]
Peace my brother – and I am praying all the time ( I just dont understand how he seems to be telling me something different than hes telling you, I wonder about that question a lot- not just with you) cause all i seem to be getting is its all about love and the greater good-- oh and I shouldnt leave the church----
