Hi,
I posted a previous prayer request regarding my beginning to hate my current job. Today I went to confession and described my frustration with my current job, and my pastor agreed that I should start looking for a new job, particularly one that involves helping people such as in psychology or the mental health field. But he sort of pointed out that some of the sins I go to confession for are probably influenced by the fact that I am frustrated with a job that I am not helping anyone. But I am going to continue working there for at least a couple of weeks, as I ask for help in finding a job that might be of some help to others. Everyone has agreed that I could do a lot of good in the psychology or mental health field, and that is what I am going to be focusing on. I have been reading a lot of the works of St. Edith Stein, and she studies and wrote a lot on the subject of psychology. But please pray that if God wants me to seek out a vocation in the psychology field, that I find something soon, and if He wants me in some other field, that God makes it clear to me what area He wants me to seek work in.
Also please pray for all people in similar situation of being in a job that does not fit them.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Praying for you…

I am in a similar, perhaps more desperate situation where I am failing at my job and looking would likely be more of the same. I have chronically been over-matched and perhaps misplaced in my work and career. The problem is with a second child on the way and exorbatant expenses. There are not many jobs that offer the pay I am making and needed at this point either without extensive training and experience.

Please others pray urgently for us all.

Praying . . . also praying for any Medical Doctors that may be seen in the future because it is nice to have already prayed for the Doctor (Our Lord knows who s/he will be even if not born yet ;)). O merciful Father,
Who have wonderfully fashioned man in Your own image,
and have made his body to be a temple of the Holy Spirit,
sanctify, we pray You, our doctors and nurses and all those whom you have called to
…study and practice the arts of healing the sick and the prevention of disease and pain.
Strengthen them in body and soul,
and bless their work,
that they may give comfort to those for whose salvation Your Son became Man,
lived on this earth, healed the sick,
and suffered and died on the Cross.
