Need to see an exorcist

Hi folks,
I have been going deeper and deeper into
sin against my conscience, smoking,
pornography, unchecked spending(when I
am in serious credit card debt). I seem to
be POWERLESS in face of it all. Moreover
I don’t have love for my bros. and sisters in
Christ, in fact I have bitter envy at those who
are high in the Spirit and seem to be pious. I
dread going to confession today b/c I am
habitually and seriously sinning.
One idea I have is that I visited an old friend
of mine who is selling Marijuana as a living
and the more I visit him, the more I fall into
sin. I’m NOT addicted to marijuana, but I think
that spiritually he and his wife are an open
door to the demonic, I need help really bad.
I am going to request to see an exorcist from
my confessor!!
 
Go to confession and stay away from the people that are bringing you down and into hell. Talk to your confessor but just because your knee deep in sin doesnt mean you need to see an exorcist.

There are deliverance prayers you can say to help you keep from evil but full demonic possession is very rare, maybe only 2 cases a year in the US.

Listen to Fr.Chad Ripperger on this subject, he is a solid exorcist and has a website and talks on youtube.

Dont lose hope, I am sure you are doing some good as well.
 
From what you said, I don’t think you will need an exorcism. You should confess often, pray fervently (especially to the Blessed Virgin), and avoid the occasions of sin (for example, stop visiting your friend). You should ask your confessor how to overcome these sins rather than requesting to see an exorcist since you don’t seem to be possessed or anything like that.

Go to confession, follow your confessor’s instructions EXACTLY, and stop smoking Marijuana; it steals your free will and leaves you open to sin.
 
No, you don’t need to see an exorcist. Frequent, even habitual, sin is not a sign of demonic possession. You simply need to frequent the confessional (a sacrament, and thus more powerful than an exorcism, which is a sacramental) and to heed very seriously what your confessor says, just as everyone else posting here is recommending. Take also very seriously that resolution you make during the act of contrition to “avoid the near occasion of sin.”

Remember, all sin and fall short of the glory of God. You’re not alone, but you know to avail yourself of God’s mercy.
 
I will pray for you🙏🏻 Stay close to the Sacraments. Our Lord cares for you and desires to set you free.

Stay away from marijuana, try finding real friends, but most of all, what the first commentator said - PRAY THE ROSARY. It’s THE weapon.

This are signs of walking by the flesh, and not by the Spirit. Transformation requires that we change all the people, places, and things in our lives that are contrary to God’s will for us. We have to substitute holy things for the profane. When you have the urge to fulfill the desires of the flesh, read scripture, listen to it and read (this uses more parts of your brain), or better read it aloud. Start with the book of John.
 
Prayer tonight for you to call the priest - they are on call 24-7! ( if you haven’t already) Jesus is ready and willing to rescue you from this bondage- HIS LOVE by way of the CROSS is more powerful than sin!!! The evil one lies and tells you the opposite- he lies and deceives- TRUST in the Mercy of JESUS who only loves and IS TRUTH! You are in my prayers dear child of our Lord! He came for ALL sinners!!!

Well, you can feel free to ask if you want, but this sounds to me like a cop out. There’s nothing supernaturally demonic about what is happening to you. It would be easier if it was. This is a battle over control of yourself, plain and simple. You cannot exorcise your own spirit.

You need to get these negative influences out of your life. It’s better to be lonely than it is to be surrounded by bad influences. You need silence. Bl Mother Teresa tells us it all begins with silence & prayer. You need to get started with a self-improvement routine, possibly with the assistance of counseling. Reclaim Sexual Health would be a good program for you, which also is helpful for substance addictions as well.

it is b/c of a watch strap that my “friends”
the drug dealers gave me that is opening
the door to the occult. I prayed the St.
Michael’s prayer three times over it this
morning and used my lighter to “pass it
thru the fire”. Please pray that it will be
enough to cancel the demonic influence it
has had over me.

OP, I say this in all charity- but get your head out of your posterior!

YOU are the one making bad choices, and only YOU can stop it.

Yes, continue to pray and receive the Sacraments, but stop blaming YOUR bad choices on demonic possession!

Dude, you are just being kinda selfish and worldly. You are running around being like everyone else.
  1. I suspect some if your sins are not really… (ie: smoking cigs)
  2. Your sins are “socially acceptable” in your circles and you are enjoying said circles and peer pressure over your faith. You are not a demon o.O
  3. Financial irresponsibility is the most prevelant mundset of over half the modern world… it is a failure of logic not the success of your demonic possession… I am not sure there are enough demons to have possessed all the people who are dumb as a box of rocks with money…that is probably the one thing even demons don’t understand that humans do. It probably confuses them because it is contrary to one’s self and the logic of evil is self.

It is fine to have objects blessed, or even to get rid of them if they do not draw your mind to God, but no influence placed on an object by anyone is more powerful than the HS within you. God did not give you a spirit of fear,but of power, love, and self control. You need to choose to act in accordance with the Spirit of God within you.

There is some serious stuff on that list, and I would guess that there is more. You do need help, and all you can get.

Now I know your intentions are good, but you aren’t willing to put it out right now. You’re into it deep and like doing it too much. That is precisely the problem, you like what you are doing too much.

Well, there is a way out. And that is Mary. She gave us a personal pledge thru her miraculous medal. She promised graces to those who wore it and who trusted her. If you are already wearing it, then you aren’t using it to it’s fullest. You need to hold it in your hand and say this little prayer to her, “Mary, help me to want to quit these sins”. Notice the prayer didn’t say “…help me to quit” but "…help me to want to quit.

You aren’t going to quit anything unless you yourself want to do so. Then when you want to quit, you will quit. Just ask Mary each and every time you find yourself sinning or tempted to sin, to help you to WANT to quite. It may seem like this is useless at first. But there will come the time when it will happen and it may occur in a way you never thought about. She has never been know to refuse anyone who sincerely asks for her help. But your patience is a requirement along with complete trust in her.

It just means your willpower is not strong.

Smoking pot often skews a person’s perception and makes one make choices they wouldn’t normally make if they were sober…in the same way drinking does.

I agree with you, DaddyGirl. But engaging in these behaviors opens the door for more sin, and leaves a foothold for evil to enter.

These methods are also ways to avoid dealing with feelings, and are often used by people that are trying not to face something on the inside.

The bottom line is that Jesus Christ came to redeem you from the works of Satan. All the prayers of intercession are directed to Jesus through His mother and the saints, and I am convinced that they would all direct you to Jesus. He came to redeem us all, especially sinners (all of us) Satan fears Him , He is your Savior, really turn to Him and let Him embrace you with His love. Your conscience will do the rest.

You don’t need an excorcist, you need to repent and believe the Gospel. You are not powerless:

"For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 7For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. " 2 Tim. 1:7

If you have been sealed in Baptism, then you have been given a Spirit of power, love, and self control. You no longer have to be a slave to sin. You can now choose to act according to the Spirit of God that is in you.

Claiming you are “powerless” is basically calling God a liar - saying that he has not given you this gift.
