Hey,

I need a prayer. I’m having a lot of trouble living the faith in my life. It’s like no matter how hard I pray, no matter how hard I try, I never gain any spiritual ground. I want to be a good, faithful catholic but it quite simply just doesn’t happen. It’s like everything that God has promised sits right in front of my face and I can’t grasp it for the life of me.

Lord please help averheyen to gain the faith he seeks.May he experience and feel Your infinite love for him and feel comforted and his faith grow.May Your Holy Spirit come upon him and guide him to pray pray pray and eventually he will feel You presence in his life.Lord sometimes we all go through spiritual difficulties and we question our very faith,please help us overcome these doubts and fears and insecurities.Lord in Your mercy hear our prayers Amen
 
**I think I understand you. We all seem to be treading water at times.
I pray the Divine Office, but some days I don’t. My priest told me
I was trying to hard. God is not a vending machine; you don’t say
the right prayer and do the right things then get consolations.
You do the right thing and pray anyway.
I will pray for you.

Lord, I pray that Averheyen continues to persevere in his faith despite his trials. May he seek to be pleasing to you with everything he does and may he pray every day, even when he feels his prayers are getting him nowhere. His persevering in faith and prayer amid these trials will prove his love for you and is so very pleasing to you. Please give him the courage to keep fighting the good fight and bless him with some consolations to encourage him to keep at his faith. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Hi. Maybe you’re trying too hard or being too hard on yourself? Maybe just let things happen?
