I’d like to add that I’m going on record saying that the idea that Moses is Akhenaten is bull and would like to see what Osman’s talking about. It’s pointed out that if Moses is Akhenaten, then Moses’s monotheism would have ended up very differently, Akhenaten’s movement was very different from how the Bible portrays God. There’s a good article here: tektonics.org/copycat/akhenaten.html

this is just a remake, of the Cecil B. DeMille 10 Commandments with Charlton Heston, Claudette Colbert and Ann Sheridan (I think), which itself was a remake of the silent version with the same sub-plot. Which of course is entirely unbiblical and unhistorical. Get Dan Brown as the script writer.

Possibly, but Ann Sheridan’s character was not Nefertiti (wife of Aknoten (sp?)). Her character’s name was Nefreteri, “wife” of Rameses.

As far as any influence on the concept of monotheism goes. it’s more probable that the earlier Moses may have influenced Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV), rather than the other way around. I recommend English archaeologist David M. Rohl’s books on a revised Egyptian chronology. They include *Pharaohs and Kings, The Lost Testament, *and *Legend. *Basically, he presents convincing evidence that generally accepted Egyptian chronology is off by around 300-400 years. The Israelite Exodus took place around 1450 B.C. and Pharaoh Akhenaten was a contemporary of of King Saul and David, not a predecessor of Moses. In fact, Moses lived about 400 years before Akenaten.

:rotfl: What a great joke Nefertiti had a love affair with a 400 year ghost. I think this movie might be a si-fi along the lines of the Mummy movies :rotfl: :rotfl:

It sounds as if the good professor borrowed quite heavily from Immanuel Velikovsky.

What’s your problem? Have you read the books and examined the evidence presented. Your sarcasm is not appreciated.

  1. It was not sarcasm but fact. The info you provided in your post sounds very much like the theory of history espoused by Immanual Velikovsky – which I gather you haven’t read. It was simply an observation about another author who has the same POV.
2)The problem with jumping to conclusions is oft times there is nowhere to land.

You offered no facts, only an uninformed opinion. FYI, I read all of the Velikvsky books several years ago and did not put much credence in them. The Rohl books are substantially different and present a much more plausible scenario. The only one I see jumping to conclusions is you.
