Washington, DC – Senator Ben Nelson announced today that he will become the crucial 60th vote that Democrats need to pass a government-run health care bill. Nelson has been holding out because of the massive abortion funding in the bill, but said today he will give the measure his support.

The compromise Nelson agreed to with Reid makes it so states could disallow abortion coverage in the new health insurance exchanges. States that don’t opt out will force taxpayers to fund abortions.

Any comment, I wonder, from the archbishop of Omaha?

Does Nebraska have recall?
Didn’t hear the word subsidiarity get used very much. Except within CAF.

[It’s also important to remember that the Democrats fought to the death for every Senate seat and every Congressional election. There was nothing about good sportsmanship or reaching across the aisle. Remember how they out and out cheated in New Jersey [by improperly substituting a candidate after the nominee dropped out] and contested and contested in Minnesota. And how in Pennsylvania and Vermont, Republican senators begged for help from the RNC and then switched to the Democrats.

In election after election, the Republicans dabbled while the Democrats fought to the death. Maybe in the end, they will pay for it. But in the meanwhile, we fall for their tricks and we suffer infringements on our freedom and loss of our lives and property.

I was under the impression that it was:
  1. No mandatory funding for abortions.
  2. There has to be at least 1 insurance option in every state that doesn’t fund abortions
  3. States could vote to make insurance funding completely illegal.
So what is the real story?

Start reading!

It’s only 3000 pages or so.

Let us know what you find!

Keep in mind that if you haven’t read it, neither have any of the Senators or Representatives.

To paraphrase Nancy Pelosi, she will sign anything and agree to anything to get nationalized health care enacted. Refinements and add-ons can be amended later. They just want YOU and your health to be controlled by the central government bureaucracy. You no longer have any say in it.

Good luck.

P.S. If you’re not happy, you may have the option to vote these people out in November 2010. After that, nobody knows. There are all sorts of tricks in play: changing he 2010 census to favor Democrats; giving citizenship and voting rights to illegal aliens and convicted felons; outright bans on free political speech.
