I was addicted to neopets for a long time…doesnt suprise me that they are linked to scientology because during my neopets era I found myself lured farther and farther away from my faith…I advise no one play it
I can appreciate your zeal and your passion, and I commend you on your dedication to fighting these infidels through boycotting.Wow, you really don’t want to give up playing on that site do you?
Look - it’s your life - live it how you please. But just so you know I went to a cult watch group & they had some information about Scientology. Apparently Scientologists consider everything L.Ron Hubbard has written to be “scripture.” One of the quotes listed was a famous one he said about our Savior Jesus Christ:
“Somebody somewhere on this planet, back about 600 BC found some pieces of R6. And I don’t know how they found it, either by watching madmen or something, but since that time they have used it and it became what is known as Christianity. The man on the cross. There was no Christ.”
Don’t take my word for it… go to this site:
ezlink.com/~perry/Co$/Christian/
And you can read for yourself. Sceintology isn’t just any “non Catholic” religion - it’s a total Satanic mind control cult. But you’re right - you don’t get any of that from the Neopets site - why would they put anything like that on there - it’s not like parents would let their children play if they knew they were supporting Scientology. Satan is much more clever than that. The neopets site is morally neutral but all the money they generate goes right back to Scientology. Read it - see what you’re supporting by playing neopets.
And regarding witnessing to others - Yes I think we should do that - so if you come across a Scientologist by all means share the gospel. But that’s not what you’re doing by playing neopets. Instead you are literally giving him money to give to his “church.” And as far as avoiding all the companies who advertise on neopets? I don’t know who those companies are but I can promise you that if every Chrisitan were to boycott neopets, fewer & fewer companies will want to pay to advertise. But if everyone has the same attitude of yours - well that’s how neopets can boast of 70 million members. It’s one thing if you didn’t know - but now you do. So now what are you going to do about it?
You called yourself a “Warrior for God” Who do you think our fight is against? Listen to what God says, " For our stuggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Ep6:12 If that isn’t talking about the Church of Scientology I don’t know who it’s talking about???
And regarding your pizza, if the “mason” owner told me that he opened the pizza parlor so that ALL of his profits could go to supporty the freemasons and I found out that the freemasons taught that Jesus Christ was a lie I would find a new pizza place.
But hey, that’s just me. Maybe you think it’s really good pizza?
I think what is being said here is not that the SITE broadcasts scientology but the funds gained from supporting the sites and all its affiliets BENEFITS scientology and all of its more evil operations. You have yet to prove to me that any of the scientology stuff is being broadcast to the public subliminally or otherwise.
Thank you! How is it that you managed to say in one sentence what I’ve been trying to say in four posts?I think what is being said here is not that the SITE broadcasts scientology but the funds gained from supporting the sites and all its affiliets BENEFITS scientology and all of its more evil operations.
That’s not a dumb question! Scientology benefits this way:Okay. This is a dumb question. If one plays the games at neopets site, how does that benefit scientology? As long as the advertisers are not patronized and nothing is purchased from the site—do they still somehow benefit? Please forgive my ignorance![]()
My neopet must be dead since I did not pay any attention to it for years. Now I do not plan to go back!again, I think the issue is whether the site is addictive, subliminal, or coercive and the intentions of it’s founder. It’s addictiveness is testified by others on this site. My kids became addicted quickly enough. but there was somethng more, something my ex scientology friend picked up on immediatly. “it’s structured exactly like scientology” he said, “you invest more and more time, you are ‘rewarded’ with neopoints and then spend your points on neoproducts, you are ‘punished’ by not frequenting it regularly (neopets get sick if not fed regularly), you learn a language unique to neopia, you develope a sense of insiders and outsiders, you develope a style of analysis measuring IQ, strength, etc relating to your pets 'profile”… it isn’t the money, people. It’s the CONDITIONING. Addictive. Subliminal. Coercive. Again, i must question the motivation: concern for my children’s welfare? Or a way to further the cause of scientology? h-m-m.

Good for you Mom! My son was totally into it also - playing all the time. I had no idea because honestly I never took the time to check it out. I thought it was some sort of Pokemon thing ??? Shows how clueless I am! (actually busy changing diapers truth be told!) Anyhow, he decided on his own that he wouldn’t go there anymore but it’s been tough - like withdrawal. He’s wanted to talk about it over & over again… “Remind me Mom, Why is it so awful?” So we go over it again… I keep telling him that this is such good practice because all through his life Satan will try to lure him away from God with things that, on the surface don’t seem so terrible… but isn’t that the way with sin? We dabble just a bit and are able to justify it and before you know it we’re in over our heads! I can’t help but think of that verse that talks about how if we’re faithful with the small things, we’ll be faithful with the big stuff. Thanks carolmarie,
My 11-year-old has been playing neopets for about 1 month. I have reviewed it, but did not see anything overtly offensive. Somehow, something didn’t seem right about it, so instead of cutting her off, I only allow 20 minutes every other day. Her best friend at school is totally into it. She’s an only child and I think it’s her main hobby. So, that’s why my daughter wanted to play. I’m going to have a talk with her after reviewing the Doug Dohring info, and then it looks like Mom is going to have to say “no” to another thing![]()
This sounds really neat. Do you have the site up yet?I have never joined Neopets. Instead I have been working on my own site and I want it to be something that is for children and adults alike. Ours is where you can adopt a pet, buy items for it, enter it into races and receive levels for it (like earn intelligence points ect). We are currently adding AI for the pets and will be adding virtual pet stuff (feeding, playing with ect).
Hopefully it can grow to a nice family-safe site that is not about commercialism.
Yes I do. I am currently working on a completely new design. I could really use parents (name removed by moderator)ut. If you’d liekt o take a peek, you can find the URL in my profile. This sounds really neat. Do you have the site up yet?
I think it looks good and more importantly, my 13 year old son gave it twoYes I do. I am currently working on a completely new design. I could really use parents (name removed by moderator)ut. If you’d liekt o take a peek, you can find the URL in my profile.![]()
Yes I am rewarded by investing to spend on things…just like in the real world. so what? Neopets dont get sick they simply get “hungry” they cant die or anything. Its like a tamagotchi. If you dont take care of your pet, it gets hungry. There is no Neopian Language to learn. There is no insider/outsider I dont think except for maybe newbies and people whove been on for a while and are therefore rich. Yes you train your pets with IQ and strength but wahts wrong with that the point of these gaming sites is to get stronger and gain points. Addictive…yes. But I dont feel its pushing anything on me.again, I think the issue is whether the site is addictive, subliminal, or coercive and the intentions of it’s founder. How is supporting the financing of scientology making disciples for the faith?First of all, you made one point… “We are told to go out and make disciples…”
Do you think we should only go out to areas that are heavily populated with Catholics or Christians so that we are sure to protect our own sense of right and wrong??? How is that making disciples for the Faith?
Soon after the passing of JPII, it was reported in the www.PhatMass.com forums that numerous anti-Catholic comments were made in the Neopets forums. JPII was called “the wicked witch of the west” in the Neopets forums. I do not think these posts were deleted…I never once even have seen a mention of scientology. The post was deleted because neopets is very religion neutral and doesnt allow discussions of that.
I would be very surprised if they didnt delete them. They are VERY strict about controversial discussions or mean spirited posts. A lot of websites i go to anti-JPII posts were made… a lot of people disagreed with him, not just neopets people/Soon after the passing of JPII, it was reported in the www.PhatMass.com forums that numerous anti-Catholic comments were made in the Neopets forums.
