This is pathetic. I really wish we could just ignore this crap. God brings good out of evil, though, so maybe if we don’t freak out too much about this the LGBTQ people will realize we don’t really care about their sins as much as they want us to. If they start showing a pro-choice Jesus and Mary, then we have real cause for anger.

I’m so thankful that I have neither netflix nor cable tv, and that I will never have either one in the future.

They don’t need to make one of him wanting under-aged girls, as the history already shows he took one as a wife.
Re-write history, mock, cause conflict and drama makes some people happy. Gives them something to do. It is sad.

Find it a bit strange so many people are advising just to ignore this. That’s precisely what Christians have done too much over the years and it hasn’t made them stop the mockery.

As far the ‘don’t react, it’s exactly what they want argument’, I disagree. It isn’t like this is some video thrown up on Youtube with hardly any views, and if Christians react, that will only draw attention to it and give the movie the publicity it wants. It’s on Netflix, so it’s going to have a big audience, and I feel we should do something to let them know this isn’t okay.

People get outraged over much less than this, so from time to time I think we have a right to be outraged over something, particularly when it is this important. I mean, are we going to defend our faith or not?

Sadly, this isn’t the only current case of the homosexual agenda being forced down the collective throat of the Christian faithful via the media.

Um, is the ad in question really that offensive? To be honest, I am sick and tired of the LGBT agenda being forced down my throat. In any case, check out the article.

I don’t do boycotts, but I did cancel my subscription, listing this movie as a reason.

I think of a boycott as something that is spread word of mouth, a group effort. My action was individual.

I agree. Take 'em to the mats, figuratively speaking of course. But definitely fight fire with fire. One of the individuals behind it had the audacity to say the protests were “homophobic”, despite the outrage being over mocking Christ, not portraying a gay dude. So let’s use that as a launching point: Cancel Netflix, tell them why your cancelling, and tell everyone you can to do the same. When you cancel and discuss cancellation, make sure you say you’re doing so because of Netflix’s hate speech, mocking the beliefs of a large chunk of the population during a holy season. I’d be willing to bet the characters in the film are playing off the same old stereotypes of gay men; effeminate, lisping, etc, etc. Point out how they’re bashing they gay community as well as Christians.

Yet you’re spreading the idea of cancelling Netflix subscriptions via typed word in a group forum. 😉

Please don’t take this as picking; I completely agree with your decision to cancel. I just found it a tad humorous.

Promoted on the biggest paid streaming site on Earth? Can you provide a link?

Now you’re changing the question. The film in question was Iranian and it was made years before Netflix became a thing.

The fact remains that there have been plenty of pop culture outlets insulting Muhammad, especially in Europe where it gets more attention/ outcry. Insulting Muhammed in most of USA would not ruffle any feathers, people wouldn’t care outside of a few communities and some major cities. That’s why it’s not done here.

Well obviously this type of blasphemy has been made millions of times. That’s not the story. The story is that it was bought and put on the biggest streaming service on Earth. So that’s implied in my response.

I think it might be difficult to make a compelling case for removing it. And extreme reactions are probably just giving some groups ammo, however justified they may be.

If they a movie ridiculed Islam, Jews; gays or lesbians with such disrespect, Netflix would not have aired it. If they did, no one would be defending it against a boycott.
