I was home from the hospital for 2 days after the birth of our 6th child when my dh came down with “something” that kept him up all night and all the next day vomiting. When that ended, he was left with a bad cramp and he thought he had pulled a muscle or something. It was the sickest I have ever seen him.
Today he went to the doctor (finally, after 4 days) to find out what was wrong, and they sent him to the hospital to get his appendix out. He’s there right now, and I’m home because I have all the kids.
My mom could come over and stay with the bigger kids if I want to go to the hospital, but I think I’d have to take the baby because she’s only one week old, and my mom can’t feed her or anything. But, I don’t want to subject her to any illnesses that she could pick up just from being in the hospital.
Also, there’s nothing I can really do for him, and he doesn’t seem filled with anxiety or anything.
Is it bad of me to not “be there” for my dh? Should I make the effort to go?
