but please pray for me to have enough strength to meet hate with love.

Though in a way its quite fascinating, the tolerance for everyone and everything, but just say “Catholicism is closest to truth.” and suddenly you are viewed as something like a murderer.
 
Dear Lord please give peace and forgiveness to those deeply offended by carn’s comments, as carn has inadvertently caused deep offense to others, just as some things said in sincerity by non-Catholics can deeply offend us Catholics.
Please help them to forgive, and to overcome their hostility, and not also make things more unpleasant for other Catholics that they encounter, knowing that Catholics may claim their faith to be superior.

Lord, carn is hurt and shocked by the hostility that is now directed towards him/her.
Lord be with carn during these troubling encounters.
Please give carn strength, forgiveness, love and peace in facing these people and their hurt and angry reactions.
Please help them all to move past this sad situation with Christian love.
Lord let You love prevail.

Imprint on the heart of Carn, the same patience, kindness, and forbearance, that you have shown to each of us on our journeys toward you. In Christ’s name I ask this…Amen

It’s interesting over the years - I have discovered through both observation and participation in discussions - how sensitive people are to certain phrases and certain ideas. They will jump to conclusions based on either too little information or flat out wrong information…
And sad to say - I am as guilty as anyone - though I think, praise God, that I have improved a bit…🤷
And so I pray this for you as well my dear brother. That the Spirit show you, as he has shown me, some of the ways to get around these barriers to fruitful conversation through the very Love of God flowing through us…

After reading your comments, the world looked at lot brighter and in the following two days, the hate slowly receded, though probably it only went into hiding. But i think the worst is behind me.

Nearly three years and last sunday she smiled when our children told her what they did, when mass started to be boring for them. No hint of hate or disgust. Such a sweet wonderful smile.

His ways are realy mysterious (though maybe i’d call it funny) because just when it sunk in the next day that this struggle is maybe finally done, i received a phone call, that one tasks i have been given and which seemed to stall forever is so to speak “getting serious” and while being a lot less personal it might be as or even more daunting and difficult with the term “struggle” being to weak; maybe “battle” is the more fitting term what might be ahead; and the at stake might be a lot more than “just” my personal well-being.

Hence, with thanking that my and your prayers have been answered (well, mostly), i have to post a new request:
