New Act of Contrition prayer?

My daughter is about to receive her first communion this year. She has a list of prayers she must learn before hand. One of them is the Act of contrition. The prayer given to us to learn is totally different from the one I learned. Has the church changed the prayer? I want to teach her the correct way.
 
There is no one correct way to pray the Act of Contrition. The Rite of Penance does not call for a specific prayer:
PRAYER OF THE PENITENT AND ABSOLUTION
  1. The priest then asks the penitent to express his sorrow, which the penitent may do in these or similar words:
There are various traditional recommended Acts of Contrition that contain all the essential elements of sorrow and penance. Your daughter is free to use either the more modern form taught by her parish or a more traditional forum of the prayer.
