New Age meditation music during prayer

Not that I’m overly anxious about this, but… I like to listen to New Age Meditation Instrumental music during prayer and the rosary. Sometimes I concentrate on heaven more while it’s playing. I use it as a prayer aid.

Should I stop this, since this music is usually produced for New Age and Occult purposes?
 
Yes please stop .
Maybe learn to alter your nervous system with your breath . Take a big inhale , pause , long exhale through the lips. This exercises the vagus nerve and activates the parasympathetic nervous system .

OP, if it’s instrumental, what makes it new age?

If there are no words, don’t worry about it.

If there are no words then you are talking about musical notes played on instruments in a specific order. And there is nothing wrong with that.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.

Faith is given Earthen jars ,which means if we are not careful ,we can loose our faith as in
2 Corinthians 11:3-4 But I am afraid that as the serpent deceived Eve by its cunning, your thoughts will be led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to Christ. 4 For if someone comes and proclaims another Jesus than the one we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you submit to it readily enough.

Jude 1: 20 But you, beloved, build yourselves up on your most holy faith; pray in the Holy Spirit; 21 keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.Philippians 1:9 And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight (discernment) Leviticus 10:10 You are to distinguish between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean;

You’re going to have to tell me how listening to acoustic guitar or solo piano music - both sold in the so-called “New Age” category - will cost me my Faith.
 
Ambient music is just ambient music. Listen to it as much as you want.
 
If it helps you have a better relationship with Jesus then go ahead and listen to it.
 
Instrumental music only–not a problem.

New Age lyrics–do not listen. Find something else.
 
Thanks all! I suspected as much that if it’s just instrumental and helps me focus on Jesus then It’s fine to do.
 
Certain ambient sounds you hear are in fact human voices electronically processed. One pioneer of this is dr jeffery thompson .

Being a new age practitioner in the past , i would stay away from such music. I even used the above mentioned technique as a way to reprogramme the subconscious with the voice of louis hay .
