New Age Monastics?

Hi! I am somewhat interested in Salesian that i google “salesian monks”. i found out about Bro. Bernard Seif, who is a Salesian monk. He is a Catholic, a clinical psychology and a Doctor of naturopathic medicine, and skilled in the Chinese practice of Medical Qigong. I was shocked with this! He is a former oblate of Saint Francis.

Is he a new-age monk? Is he really catholic?

I don’t have a definite answer for you. The apparent web address of his monastery is gentlestrength.org , but it re-directs to byregion.net/cgibin/users/profiles.pl?username=monk

That website says that he is under private vows, not public vows, which to me indicates that he is not a monk in the normal sense of the word. However, I am not familiar with Salesian spirituality and would welcome more information.
