It appears there is a rival Catholic Church emerging, if one can even imagine such a thing!😦

They call themselves the “American National Catholic Church”

Basically, a “catholic” church that allows homosexuality, women priests, divorce, contraception etc. Basically a hedonists paradise! :mad:

Has anyone heard of this Church? Hopefully they have not grown too big.

Like all other Post Modern. “Liberal” Protestant churches, this too will slowly whither and disappear.

Whatever. I am slightly ashamed to say it, but I couldn’t care less.

With (a very short amount of) time, they will disappear into the dustbin of history, and forgotten forever.

In that case it’s not Catholic, it is protestant

It is protestant for the reason that they are giving their own personal interpretations and not what the Magisterium states.
 
That’s crazy, as someone else mentioned it will probably wear out. Just think of all the heresies that have come up over the centuries and how some of them disappeared.

100% agree.
 
This is why I said before that there should be at least one bishop with a business background so they can trademark certain words. You have so many congregations now calling themselves “Catholic”, “Orthodox”, “Apostolic”, etc. it is all misleading.
 
They can say they are Catholic, yet if you asked one of them where the local Catholic Church was, I can guarantee you they wouldn’t point to their own church or congregation but to the real Church.

Not to mention what those heretics had to do in order to get their heresy on the map. They had to actually gain a following and actually grow their movement. Today all they need is a computer, any heretic can create a website. It will never make any mark on history.

Those poor birds. Your right, all someone needs is a site and some friends and hey you have yourself a church. Did you hear about the divine truth guy from Australia saying he is Jesus and his wife is Mary Magdalen? Unbelievable!

This won’t end well for them.
 
There are a lot of these little cult type things unfortunately. There’s a man in, I think, Kansas who claims he is the rightful Pope and has followers etc.

Very sad for those poor people
 
I do not believe that “schism” is the right word. My perusal of their website showed me nothing suggesting that their priests were once Catholic priests.
