Having lived in Salt Lake City/West Jordan/Orem over six years some years ago, observing the two prior since 1994,and their contributions, interested in Catholics thoughts on the 10th Bishop appointed by Pope Francis, Oscar Solis earlier this month.

I am pleased my friends, who remain loyal in Utah, celebrate their new leader.
 
I am surprised about the comments that have followed since introducing this thread.

Busy, football playoffs, etc ---- of course I am busy as well, nonetheless make this week a great for your families, those you serve the way that Christ would have us serve each other. Continue in prayer.
 
I don’t know anything about the new bishop, but I’ve been to Salt Lake City and the Catholic cathedral (St. Mary Magdalene) is very beautiful.
 
The local Salt Lake City media was present at the diocese headquarters, next to the Cathedral is how I learned of the new Bishop days ago almost two weeks ago.

KSL Channel 5’s website was the source that provided this information for me.
 
Considering the cultural diversity in SL Co., Bishop Solis, coming from Arch. of LA makes a great deal of sense, and I have no doubt that he will serve his flock well. 🙂
