I understand that there’s a new biography of Muhammad by a British, non Islamic, author. Indeed, I understand the author to be an expert of some type on the Bible.

Does anyone know the name of the book, and has anyone here read it?

I do not know of a “new” book.

The foremost Western historian of Islam is Bernard Lewis. He is now 100 years old.

A small, but excellent history, IMO, is “**Moslems Their beliefs, practices, and politics.” **It has the advantage of being published in the 1930s - not influenced by today’s views. It is by Gabriel Oussani and Hillaire Belloc.

A note of caution: No biography was attempted until 150 years after Mohammed’s passing. We have the Quran, Hadiths, and the writting of some 9 Islamic historians from 768 through 1292.

Others may know more.
