Wouldn’t the book be good to read regardless of your thoughts? I mean until one reads it how can form an opinion? Maybe its worth it simply to refute it if one thinks its not factual. I am planning on buying it.
Well, if you like entertainment, yes, buy it.Wouldn’t the book be good to read regardless of your thoughts? I mean until one reads it how can form an opinion? Maybe its worth it simply to refute it if one thinks its not factual. I am planning on buying it.
I only have to look at his books, bud. He wrote 8 books and 7 are on Sufism. That shows his area of expertise.Yeah, you’re not looking at his full CV. His full CV includes education and scholarly articles (which are more numerous than books). The CV is a word doc that you download.
You can read Islamic texts for yourself, in translation, and without a complete picture of the context or anything else remotely approaching a deep historical study. That means you read the sources badly.
No. It’s another book on the uneducated prophet.Oh God. Another un educated book on the Prophet(saw)
If you are, that’s great. But if you are, you wouldn’t ask that question, you would just say so.How do you know that’s not what I’m doing right now?
I’d say the chances that he’s a Sufi are pretty high, based on his interests in life evidenced by his writing. Of course, my dear Pro, I have no proof, just inference from circumstantial evidence. An Islamic apologist? What? A sufi? Huh???
Well, let’s see the proof of that.
No, my argument is that academics can be wrong, and it’s possible that Ernst is wrong. A polemicist is what you are, and you can be wrong too.Anyway, if your argument is that academics can be wrong, therefore, Spencer is credible…well, that’s a terrible argument. Academics can be wrong; polemicists almost always are wrong.
As long as this guy did not come up with his book in a cave, it might be something to read.No. It’s another book on the uneducated prophet.
Pro is not terrified of anything, he has aligned himself with what he percieves to be the “winner” in this world.Isn’t interesting that pro now got sidetracked trying to defend his “expert.” He seems to find it frustrating. He doesn’t like his own tactic being used against him.
The point is that he has avoided discussing Spencers book on it’s MERITS. The one time we did I proved that Spencer was correct. Pro is terrified of really looking at the life of his prophet or comparing him to Jesus. He should be.
Agreed. The forum “authority” has really slipped up here. Letting HIM get away with cyberspace murder so to speak.I don’t think pro was ever Catholic. I think he is and was always a Muslim. That is the only way to make sense of what he says. His support for terrorist groups is simply appalling. And his lack of concern or even acknowledgment of the horrors perpetrated by Islam is incomprehesible.
I have to agree. Recently, pro wrote that God *willed *Christ’s death. I think it’s possible for someone to live in a Christian nation and pick up the lingo enough to pass yourself off as Christian in conversation, but then when you get down to brass tacks, the comprehension level of even Christianity 101 is just not there in his case.I don’t think pro was ever Catholic.
No its the politically correct forces on this forum that allows garbage posts and stupid threads that do nothing good for Catholics and nothing but -the ever predictable “mass abuses” and you name the idiotic thing. Its here. And no one who posts this garbage is held accountable to prove their accusations! If it looks like a duck, if it waddles like a duck, if it quacks like a duck, is it a dog?
Who hates Moslems? Has anyone here said anything bad about Moslems? We hate Islam not Moslems. Get your facts straight.Damascus,
As for the rest of you, it’s obvious what is going on here. Anyone who disagrees with hating Muslims is “muslim” or “part of the conspiracy of muslims”. It’s an irrational hatred that drives this, not “reading the sources of muslims.” Plain and simple.
No, what is going on here is people present you and other Moslems with facts and rather than deal with those you go for questioning ‘motives’ etc, even now you do so.Damascus,
I sincerely appreciate your charity, and I haven’t found you at all abrasive or unreasonable even though we do not agree.
