This Bible puts together the Scriptures and Psalms used in the readings of the Mass of England and Wales. (The 1966 **Jerusalem Bible **and the ‘Grail’ Psalms)
Quite a nice idea, since there is no English Catholic Bible that brings the two together yet, any readers of the Jerusalem Bible will know its Psalms arent used in the Mass. Some argue this is because the JB’s use ‘Yahweh’ rather than ‘The Lord’. So whilst you can track down the day’s reading in your JB, its difficult to identify with the Psalm of the day when its counterpart is so different in the JB.
Anyway, trying to relate the day’s readings to your bible has become a lot easier with this new publication.
It also contains the plan of sunday and weekday readings over the three year cycle in the Church so you can look up the day’s reading for further reflection and study, and link it to other passages in the bible.

Sorry if I came over all salesman-like, I didn’t mean to. I, for one just think its neat having a Bible that uses exactly what the Liturgy does, so I can incorporate what the church uses into my daily readings. Often the day’s reading sticks in my mind but I have trouble finding it in my other translation once i’m home, hopefully not anymore, if I get this Bible.
I guess it doesn’t have the same use if you’re not from England or Wales though
