New Catholic - confused by the Missalette

Can any one point me to an online resource that shows me exactly how to use the missalette? My wife and I attended our first Mass last week, and we were almost able to follow the entire Mass, but after the Homily, we weren’t able to easily follow the Mass. Primarily, we see that some responses, for example, seem to have multiple ‘options’ and are preceeded by A,B,C or D. That’s were we started to get lost.

Please forgive our inexperience. We were both baptized Catholic as infants, but neither of us were raised in the Church. We’ve only now found our way back home where we belong in the Church.

is the part that threw you off the memorial acclimation? (about halfway through the concecration, priest says “let us proclaim the mystery of faith”)
(christ has died christ is risen, christ will come again OR Lord by your cross and ressurection you have set us free you are the savior of the world OR when we eat this bread and drink this cup we proclaim your death lord jesus come in glory OR several other options or variations) really the only choice is to be aware that there are several options and just go along with them.

Yes! That’s exactly where we weren’t able to find the right section. It seemed like everyone knew exactly which one was being read, as many were not even using the missalette.

You just get used to them. some of the less popular ones I even have problems with, and thats after 20 years!

What I have found is that if the missallete is set up in columns and column A is used by the priest, then follow column A all the way through.

If the priest uses the top line, then the responses are all the top responses, if he reads from the middle line, (as you would be reading it) your responses would be from the middle line.

At least that’s how I have seen it usually work.

I welcome you back home. However I’m concerned how you return? Was there a program that you went through? Did you have contact with someone that guided you back? I’m supprised that your parish returning Catholic process did not go over the Mass with you. Your not alone, it takes time to get used to the Mass. But you should not have to figure it out on your own either.
