Pray Aloud has finally launched at www.prayaloud.com. Pray Aloud is a free (and ad-free!) online Catholic magazine which aims to transform into a advocacy group which includes an online action center and social network to stand-up for social issues through lobbying, organization, and the providing of resources.

We are looking for writers, donors, and all kinds of help - just sign up to get started and you’re off! If you can’t help financially, no problem, but give us a hand writing. I can’t stress enough how much we will need a strong community of Catholics to contribute.

We don’t wish to compete with this site, as our goal is to evangelize and provide Catholic content, not a message board. We will soon be sending e-mails to attempt and “partner up” with other Catholic sites.

Now that the weekend is here an extremely important question has made itself apparent which I would like responses to.

Should Pray Aloud operate on weekends? If so, should we publish new posts on Sunday?

I’m not sure if Sunday should be a day of rest for the site or be used as an especially important day to spread the gospel. Any thoughts?

Personally, I’m pretty funny about working on the Lord’s day. I don’t mind doing things that improve me or help others. But work? Not on my watch. It’s too easy to get caught up in my opinion. But it’s up to you and your model.

YOu can perform work as long as it is no “servile work.” Work you perform for somebody else out of obligation.

You should not be working on your site on Sunday, but others can still visit. Certainly leave it up on Sunday. You could probably do a few things if you really had to, but I wouldn’t work on it too much.

I’ve decided to let it be Sunday. We are now experiencing plenty of visits but DESPERATELY need writers! Many people are reading but few are sharing their experiences with us. Please, consider logging-on at PrayAloud.com, logging-in or creating an account, then hitting the write a post button the right! Others are coming to Pray Aloud daily to strengthen their faith and your writings can help!
