You are right I’m starting to have trouble with labels myself. Am I even really catholic, do I want to pigeonhole myself into that ladder I mean when does Catholicism even start or get defined , Baptism? Well thats just to restrictive who is anyone to tell people whether they are catholic or not jesus said let the one who doesn’t sin to cast the the first stone so I don’t think religious labels should prejudge people either. How do I vote I mean can I even assign a complex person into some arbitrary political spectrum when people evolve, change, have nuanced views. Political parties can’t fit all that either really they should be abolished too…

Can you see how silly your war on labels is when taken to your extreme?
Labels are definitly necessary in historical contexts. For example …liberals caused much damage to the Church after Vatican II and( still are to some degree). Also it’s been said that 50% of Catholics voted for a staunch pro abortion president. One can only conclude that they had a liberal political ideology. It’s kind of silly imo to pretend that it doesn’t exist.

So you guys are in favor of denying Republican politicians who vote in favor of drastic cuts to social welfare programs or for wars, correct? Or is this just pro-choice and pro-gay marriage politicians? And the Eucharist shouldn’t be used as a weapon. There is no chance for discussions with the person in question if an in your face approach is used.
No one I know is for “drastic” cuts of harming the perpetually poor, but getting people off the government doll who don’t have a good reason to be on it is something all Catholics should support.

We need to be mindful of the scandal of creating a permanent underclass in Western nations just so certain liberal politicians can be elected without fear.

Also, government programs are not known to help very many people in the long run.

The real tragedy is that a lot of them do not. Sure, a lot of the elite, straight liberal whites in the safer urban areas, the Northeast and the Left Coast think all these minorities who perpetually vote democrat are in lockstep with their agenda.

But look at the facts.

Rick Santorum recently pointed out that 40% of Americans say they are conservative—that’s the same it was during the waning years of President Eisenhower’s Administration.

Muslims, Orthodox Jews, Black Evangelicals, Asians----these groups staunchly oppose so-called gay “marriage”, many are not fans of abortion, and Asians and Muslims have more solid numbers on the traditional family than whites.

Also, try and sell Hollywood’s fluffy dreams from idealism to alternative energy to people in Richmond or Oakland and see what happens.
