As the wikipedia article mentions, professional historians don’t take this seriously. Of course they could all be wrong. I think this is a case where Hume’s argument against miracles (which I think does not actually work with regard to miracles) is relevant: it is simply far more probable that these guys are nuts than that the entire historical enterprise since the Renaissance has been a fraud or a delusion.

If you have the time and interest to study history in vast detail for yourself, learn the relevant languages, study the texts, etc., then by all means explore this question. I think it would be fun. But in the absence of such resources, why take this seriously? The chances that they are right are minuscule.

But it is fascinating stuff. Great “alternate history.” But about as certain as possible not to be the real history.

This is the first I heard of this. But I am not impressed. It is patently contradicted by much recorded history.

However, I must disagree with juliamajor’s assessment of New Chronology (not really, just saying that for effect). It much worse than mere poo-poo. It is a toxic poison designed to strip humanity of it’s most noble figures and institutions.
