Hey gang,

A few weeks ago I became a software developer and released a Douay Rheims Bible on the Google Play Store. Today, I’ve completed a new app, an app for the Church Fathers, and I think you guys might like to try it out:

Church Fathers
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.historyandapologetics.churchfathers

It’s got lots of great features:

You can select any Church Father to read the doctrines they taught, the writings they wrote, and the article about them in the Catholic Encyclopedia:

You can also organize them according to the time period they lived in or the region they are associated with:

If you think it looks good, check it out for free on the Google Play Store today.

Also, let me know any bugs you find or features you’d like me to add.

Is the App for a mobile device or also for a pc?
How about those of us on iOS?
Currently I’ve only made the app available on Android. Somebody on Reddit has offered to port it to iPhone for free, but it would go under their name and I’m not sure I can expect a random person on Reddit to push out my updates as fast as I make them. It’s a lot to ask a person to not only put it out there once but also spend extra hours coding updates whenever I ask.

I wish I could make my own Apple developer account and do this all myself, but you can’t test your app for iPhone without an Apple computer, which I don’t have. I could port version 1.0 of this app pretty easily through this Reddit person, but I’m already preparing version 2.0 and I’m not sure it’s wise to give complete control of my app on that platform to someone else… And I can’t afford an Apple computer so I feel kind of suck. Advice would be appreciated.

Regarding a PC app, it wouldn’t be hard to turn this app into a website. I already did that with my Bible app and it seems to work ok. (dmar198.github.io/drb-web-index.html) Do you really think I should make it installable on a PC? I think I could do that…I could also make it available as a Chrome extension. Which would be best? Website, extension, or Windows program?
