Someone has told me the new translation of the Mass into English will be about six weeks this sounds to good to be true, can anybody shed some light on this for me.
Also have their been the same kind of problems with other languages that we have experienced in the English speaking world concerning their translation of the Mass

Sounds good. Post something when you hear.

This is too optimistic.

The Vatican appointed Vox Clara (chaired by Cardinal Pell of Sydney and with a number of english speaking cardinals from around the world) is working on translating the latin version of the Mass (Novo Ordo) into english.

The 2 intitial drafts I have seen copies of (posted on the internet) have the new translation much more prosaic and numinous than the current translation.

The latest I heard was that the new translation would be available for the various national bishops conferences (USA, Australia, UK etc) in early 2007.

Could you post a link to the 2nd draft? I’ve got a copy of the 1st draft but can’t find the 2nd online anywhere.

thanks, :tiphat:
