I believe that he is first Catholicos of Cilicia and by default given the title Patriarch by Rome. Unless I’m mistaken, even the Annuario Pontificio shows the title as Catholicos-Patriarch. But anyway, just because Rome bestows a title doesn’t mean that title is either historic or authentic. 🤷
Shrug means you do not understand.

Patriarch of a Catholic Church sui iuris is not the same as a historic Catholicos-Patriarch such as Catholicos-Patriarch of the Assyrian Church of the East Mar Dinkha IV or Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II. And there is no Latin Church office of Patriarch (only a title of honor).

Just to add my little voice to those already vocalized. I’m totally excited that Kyr Samra is our new Eparch… I prayed for this. It is to him, in large part, that I owe my introduction to the Jesus Prayer and the Melkites. It is also to him that I owe much of my formation as an Eastern Catholic, primarily because of the translations/editing he’s done on the works of Cyril Korolevsky and Kyr Elias Zoghby along with the writings of +Kyr Joseph Tawil, as well as short articles that he has written. Now I really wish I had a copy of his new book. 👍 AXIOS!!! AXIOS!!! And again AXIOS!!!

Actually, I think the smiley with the question marks is the one that says “I don’t understand.”

Smiley means confused. Are you confused about the Catholic office of Patriarch?

Shrug (Merriam Webster): to lift or contract (the shoulders) especially to express aloofness, indifference, or uncertainty

No, I understand all of it quite well, thank you. The “shrug” is the closest I could find to “shake head” which would have been far more appropriate to express my position on the matter.

Any news about when the Good Bishop will have his installation ceremony?

The installation of our New Eparch Nicholas James Samra will be around the Feast of the Dormition - Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. Sometime during the week of the 15th of August 2011

Axios, axios, axios!
May God grant many years to Sayednah Nicholas!

Here are the first photos I’ve seen for the Enthronement of the Most Reverend Bishop Nicholas Samra as Eparch of the Diocese of Newton. 😃

Our Deacon was there. I hope to see lots more photos. 😃

Our deacon brought these back for us. 🙂
P.S. I don’t know why it appears as a long strip here. The cards are the standard 2 1/2" X 4 1/4".
