Mt19_26

Guest
I am on vacation in Steamboat Springs, CO and just finished attended Mass. During the Mass the priest announced that he’ll be using a “new” Eucharistic Prayer that has been approved by the Church called, “The Church on the Road to Unity”. It appeared to be the first time he’s used the “new” prayer. I’ve never heard this before. Is there really a new Eucharistic prayer?

Not that I have heard of. There may be some new wording in the new RM when it’s approved/ published later this year.

I haven’t heard of this either, but now I am interested in finding out.

This ‘new’ Eucharistic Prayer isn’t all that new. It’s one of the 13 Eucharistic Prayers approved by Rome for use in the United States (and some other English speaking countries) and can be found in the section ‘Eucharistic Prayers for Various Needs and Occasions’. It’s been approved for use in the U.S. since at least 1996. To read the text of all 13 Eucharistic Prayers, check out this site:

God Bless!
