Hi I’m new to the site, and a protestent sister of mine asked me where it says ‘New Eve’’ in the bible, whats the best way to explain to her that Mother Mary is the New Eve?

my reply to her, was ''certainly, when you can tell me where ‘‘Bible’’ is in the bible. :rolleyes:

but I’m almost there with her, I just need to get this across that Mother is the New Eve.

any help or links would be appreciated

You won’t find the “New Eve” in the Bible. But if you read St. Justin Martyr’s writings (circa 150AD) and St. Ireneaus (circa 185AD), you’ll find that this is a teaching as old as the Church Herself.

I don’t have time to look up their quotes, but they both use Biblical proofs to show why the Church calls Mary, The New Eve, something your friend may find comforting.

You see, it was hard back then to make sure something was in the Bible before they could teach it, because the Bible hadn’t been hammered out yet (which books are in and which are out was still being discussed).

So the early Church Fathers taught simply the Truth.
 
Where would one find those writings though?
