SacredHeartFan,
I believe that wonderful spiritual changes are already taking place in Russia. Permit me to submit the following:
"When speaking of the reason for the large pilgrimage of Russians to the 90th anniversary at Fátima on October of 2007, the Archbishop of Moscow Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz shared:
“Our private intention is to thank our Mother, the Most Holy Virgin, for the gift of religious liberty. We have also the intention to pray for the gift of the authentic conversion and the rebirth of the Russian society… The pilgrimage of the image of Our Lady of Fátima across the vast territory of Russia and of Kazakhstan in the year of 1996 became in itself ‘the national spiritual exercise’. Our churches were flooded with people, they came to pray before the Pilgrim Mother of God, not only the Catholics but also the Orthodox. Only God knows how many persons went to confession and received communion, and how many conversions were the fruit of the pilgrimage. May God be always praised by what He does through the intercession of Our Lady of Fátima.”
The same Catholic archbishop of Moscow in an recent interview with *Inside The Vatican *shared that in his visits to Fátima, *"Yes, I did speak with Sister Lucia,… Three times. I did ask her about the conversion of Russia, since I felt my mission might be directly connected, despite my own limitations, with this mystery.
“And Sister Lucia said that I should think of conversion as a long process, not as something immediate and dramatic, something that happens overnight or instantaneously. She said I should consider that the essential thing is the salvation of souls, and the conversion of sinners. In this sense, she said, I needed to think of the word ‘Russia’ as in some way standing for the entire world, and the reference to the ‘conversion’ as a reference to the conversion of sinners.”*
