My toolbar doesn’t have the emoji.

Not sure why.
Are you using a mobile device? The emoji icon is the second from the right hand side. So depending on how narrow your window is, it might not make it into view. If I make my browser only take up half my monitor, I can’t see the emoji icon either unless I hide the preview of my post.

This is what my toolbar looks like:

But it actually looks different on my phone:

It’s missing a few of the icons. Still has the emoji one, though. 🤔

It was, but that was something people like me enjoyed about it. I don’t care for post-smart phone website design. I just don’t.
It’s sort of interesting to me how websites went from rather plain to rather complex and full back to more plain. I don’t mind simple and plain if all the features are still there, but I can get why it strikes some people as a step backwards.

At least for me, I’m checking CAF on my phone now, which I never used to do, because I can actually read it without having to pinch and zoom all the time.

is there a word/character count that i am not seeing? post are limited but you don’t see the size till you post.

thanks in advance

There is nothing that tells you the character count as you go. You only find out if you exceed the 3200 character count limit. Then it will tell you how many characters you have so you have an idea of how much you need to trim before posting.

If you want to know ahead of time, you can try copying and pasting your post into a Word document and using the word count feature as that also tells you the character count.

Is it my imagination or is World News drifting off the radar? No one is posting there. I think the way the feed runs on the new forum it draws people to the latest current threads - the old way you looked at all sections simultaneously. I know this observation will probably not go down too well, but I fear this new fast paced, numbers driven layout will feed to the crowd (in the Kirkegaardian sense of the word, i.e., mob) and drive away more diverse, potentially interested parties. I would think CAF would want to appeal to a wide audience, not just the ‘in-the-knows’. This will all get very claustrophobic, fast. Just my opinion; could just be what is happening now. Or I am missing something.
