You don’t need to engage me at all. You just need to avail yourself of the information that is out there. Maybe start with an easy one like the Book of Abraham. My posts are in no way meant to be hateful or disrespectful, but they are direct. I know you don’t understand this right now because you cannot fathom why anyone would find the Mormon church to be false. That is the grip of very strong emotional and cultural forces at work. It is a journey of discovering difficult truths that takes years.

I wish the two testaments were written in the same language as this would be an interesting word comparison.

Yeah Kolob isn’t mentioned in the Book of Mormon, but tell us more about all one needs to know about it. lol

God could certainly not have named any planet or star and left such out of the Bible! Wait, how many star names are in the Bible?

Unfortunately, you would have to read, ponder, and pray with sincerity to find out the Book of Mormon is true. Even if we chalk up your Kolob comment to faulty memory, the disdain and confirmation bias will not equate to someone kneeling in humble prayer and asking God to show them the truth. Such a simple thing that is so very difficult to convince someone to do. Look and live.
Kolob is, however, mentioned in the discredited book of Abraham though isn’t it?

I have lived near the LDS most of my adult life. When I went to God in search of the truth, praying and listening, He led me to the Catholic Church. God did not tell me the LDS was the path to salvation. The Holy Spirit did not tell me the BoM was true. Jesus convinced me the one true Church, His true Church, the Catholic Church is the one and only way to eternal life.

The LDS does not make any sense at all when looked at objectively. There are some many things JS said that have proven to be untrue. Other things that are just not possible or explainable, and most without logic or reason.

The book of Abraham is one really good example.

I don’t know how old you are, alaris. But Kolob was in the edition of the BOM I received as a teenager. I hadn’t heard of it until I saw it in there. I was told many years later (by the Mormon who convinced me to read it again since it had been revised since my copy) that the name had been removed from later revisions. (FYI, the BOM (Book Of Mormon) is not the Bible.)

Believe whatever you want about your religion, its books, its teachings and its founder, Joseph Smith, alaris. Your response is the typical Mormon response. I pray you will one day see the error of your church’s teachings and that you will leave it for one which preaches and teaches God’s Word (the Holy Bible) correctly.

For one thing, there is no angel named Moroni. Joseph Smith and his followers attribute that name to the unnamed angel in Rev 14:6-7.

Elias, Moses, Elijah, Moroni (if he truly existed), John The Baptist, Peter and James are not resurrected angels. They did not minister to Joseph Smith. That is one of the many stories he made up. Humans do not become angels.

The Apostle John is not still alive walking the earth preaching the gospel. Mormons claim he is because of Jesus response to Peter in John 21:21-23.

Lucifer (Satan) is not the brother or even a spirit brother of Jesus. Nor is he a son of God. Mormons use Job 1:6 and sometimes Ezekiel 28:13 to justify their teaching that he is.

My memory is fine. And the BOM was the only Mormon book I had at the time. So your assumptions are wrong.
