New GOP “Pledge to America” Calls for Tax-Funded Abortion Ban

Washington, DC – House Republican leaders plan to officially released the 21-page “Pledge to America” on Thursday morning, but advance copies of the yet-to-be-approved document show it includes a call for a ban on all taxpayer funding of abortions and an aggressive strike against the ObamaCare law.

I must say that I am disillusioned with both parties. I don’t see this as anything more than a PR ploy to gain power.

If anyone is old enough to remember Newt Gingrich and his Contract with America, they might recall that the idea of change was enough to bring a turnover in the Congress, which set a whole new standard for political corruption and greed.

That trend only continued, regardless of party, until we have reached the point we are at today. Mr. Obama ran on a platform of badly needed change to bring morality back to the Executive Branch, and we have seen that he has been unable to deliver on his promises.

The problem, in my opinion, is that the Congress is no longer accountable to the voters. They answer to the lobbyists who finance their campaigns. Recent ruling by the US Supreme Court which remove restrictions on political advertising will only worsen this problem.

Personally, I would like to see term limits for all political office. I would also like to see very person in every elected seat replaced in every election until such time as they start paying attention to the will of the voters.

Don’t be fooled by the current GOP promises.
