New Group For Austin Catholics

[littlequestion]

I did not see a group for Catholics who live in or around Austin, Texas, so I started one. It is just a place where we can post what is happening in our parishes, like special events, holiday festivals, etc and where we can develop a sense of community to balance the lovely but secular world around us.

I did a double-take when I first saw the thread headline (threadline?). Then, when I read it more carefully, what went through my mind was,

That’s ok: there is a thread with the title “I can see demons…” and every time it pops up in the list that stupid pop song “I can see clearly now…” gets into my head! That thread is haunted! LOL

The problem with trying to get a group off the ground is that you can’t open the group forum until enough members are in it and no one wants to join a group that doesn’t have a forum yet. Also, some people don’t know they have to go to the page and join. I have received emails from interested people but they have not actually joined it.

But if I can get at least a couple people to join it we can put links to things like parish pancake brreakfasts, etc that people might want to know about ahead of time. If people have home prayer groups, etc they will be able to post it there because when there are enough in the group I will close it off from non-members and then it will be like a little neighborhood lunch counter.
