I was a practicing Catholic from Easter 1999 up to Lent 2009 and quit…just quit, blamed it all on “not being able to reconcile my heart with certain Catholic Dogma” and joined an Episcopal Church. That last 3 months. WAAAY too socially liberal for me. Then joined a small PCUSA church in my hometown. Well…small church is too kind. Service attendance was as low as 11 and as high as 24 in the year since I joined, but I do and will always love the people there, but for someone needing to be in a ministry, it just could not measure up.
I started taking stock a while back and it was almost embarrassing. I have taught RCIA classes, I am a former 3rd degree KOC, an altar server, how could I have been so angry at the church when in all reality, I was unhappy with myself and my Protestant surroundings.
I sent out emails to my Priest at my old parish…and of course he welcomed me with open arms. Made a confession yesterday, cried my eyes out, and made a new profession of faith. I made it through Communion without breaking down but could think of nothing except the parable of the Prodigal Son as I prayed after Communion.
It is good to be home and I have already sent out feeler for 3 separate ministries within my Parish. Praise God with me on this momentous occasion. He was lost has come home, THANKS BE TO GOD!!! VIVAT JESUS!
Glad to be here!
