I’m not sure there is a gender war developing here as much as there is the surfacing of one that’s be going on now for a couple of generations. We can’t, at least not easily, have it both ways. I know of a few Catholic families where this role reversal is in play, and they seem to work it out, but it is more difficult to manage.
