I do not know if this goes here, so I will respect the admin’s decision to move the thread.

Next month, we will be moving out of our house here (Montalban, Rizal) to rent a house in the city (San Juan, Metro Manila) which is pretty far, thus resulting to a transfer in my parish and diocese.

Since I currently serve in my Parish as a youth minister, should I resign my position as youth minister before I transfer to my new parish?

And also, since I like to continue being active in my Parish, should I get to know my new Parish more before I sign up as a member of any ministry there? What ministry would be good to join, especially since I am renting for a short period of time, though it may extend.
Should I lean to Liturgical Ministries (Altar Servers, Lectors etc.), Non Liturgical (Media, Social Services, Youth etc. or Devotional Groups (Adorers, Apostleship of Prayer etc.)?

By all means, a position in the parish you are leaving should be resigned before you leave. Give them time to find someone new.

I’d say get to know the new parish before you apply to join anything.

I find no mater where you go everything seems different, new home, new town, new neighbours etc. but one thing always remains and that is the Church, you always feel at home even if you have just walked into the new Church for the first time.

Even if I am in a different country and I get homesick pretty quick I always feel at home in a Catholic church.
