New Infant Jesus statue

I have always prayed to Infant Jesus and have had it in my heart to have one statue at home… i finally bought one today… what is the proper way of veneration for the statue?
 
A) Have it blessed by a priest to make it a sacramental
B) Place it in a prominent place in your home like a home altar
C) Place other religous sacramentals near it
 
I have been wondering about the home alter, and Mary statute setup. Is there a thread on here that explains that, what we are supposed to do and what a home altar is about?

i did not get blessed when the priest was blessing the statue… the secretary took it inside and didnt ask me to come in… on coming out, she said that the priest has blessed me too…
i feel so cheated!! 😦
