Teacher Herb McCaffrey left Mountain View Middle School in Mendham as a man and will return as Kerri McCaffrey, a woman.

The 41-year-old has undergone gender reassignment surgery.

The language arts teacher tells The Star-Ledger of Newark he’s dedicated his life to being a good influence on children.

Some parents and teachers have accepted McCaffrey’s decision. But others are concerned about whether middle school-age children should have to deal with such issues.

Parent Caren Cusano tells the newspaper she contacted McCaffrey through e-mail to applaud her choice and asked for Web sites to help explain it to her children.

Mother Anna Seavey says she has not yet told her kids.

Eighth-grader Rebecca Tishman tells the newspaper she thinks it’s fine and is sorry the teacher was confused for so long.

The NEA supports this abuse of children’s learning by teachers. They have no moral standards.

Oh man…how do you explain to kids that several months ago I was a man and now i am a woman??? Why would you want to expalin??? And WHY SHOULD MY KIDS OR ANY KIDS BE SUBJECTED OT THAT IN A MIDDLE SCHOOL ???

Bulling and/or sexually offensive speech and conduct are totally inappropriate to a harmonious learning or working environment and will not be tolerated in the Mendham Borough School District.
 
Karin…appears Political Correctness is well entrenched at the school. Reprehensible as well for the Star-Ledger to quote an 8th grader to justify this surgery.

Paul McHugh, Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University, writes in First Things:
Most of the cases fell into one of two quite different groups. One group consisted of conflicted and guilt-ridden homosexual men who saw a sex-change as a way to resolve their conflicts over homosexuality by allowing them to behave sexually as females with men. The other group, mostly older men, consisted of heterosexual (and some bisexual) males who found intense sexual arousal in cross-dressing as females. As they had grown older, they had become eager to add more verisimilitude to their costumes . . .I have witnessed a great deal of damage from sex-reassignment . . .We have wasted scientific and technical resources and damaged our professional credibility by collaborating with madness rather than trying to study, cure, and ultimately prevent it . . .

The madness isn’t confine to those seeking the surgery, it infects the culture as well.
 
Wasn’t this a South Park episode? I don’t have kids but I definitely would not want to have to explain to them why their teacher is now a Ms.!

How old are you?!!! I’m 43, not a spring chicken, and this subject was called Language Arts when I was a child. In High School they call it English. It’s called Language Arts because it includes writing, grammar, literature and public speaking. In High School subjects are usually broken-down into specifics such as Composition, American Literature, English Literature, etc.

I guess you think calling it Language Arts is against God’s law and is just another example of the world going to the hot place in a hand basket!!

Not sure how I could explain this. Just another reason to homeschool as far as I can tell. This is hard enough to explain to an adult much less a child still trying to deside who they are.:banghead:

You are right about homeschooling but I worry about those who are not in a position to do so. And I can’t understand why my taxes should fund immoral teachings.

I certainly won’t touch that question with a ten foot pole.

Sex alterations certainly slaps God in the face because, that person is telling God, “I don’t like the way You made me, so I’ll make myself!” Lord, have mercy!

Lizzie just got our yearly extortion letter from our public school system. They want over $2000 from us this year. LOL that would buy alot of NEW Catholic homeschooling books and stuff. Funny we spend about what public schoolers do on back to school stuff for our yearly books and supplies.
Yes we pray for those children in the public school systems.

Especially the property taxes that are used to fund schools in New Jersey. We’re actually moving to another township because of how ridicuous taxes have gotten where we are now.

Hi fellow Jersey Person…I hope your not moving to Bergen County…horrible property taxes…not as bad as Hudson County but still up there…UGH!
It just seems no matter where in NJ you go the taxes are CRAZY:whacky:

May God have mercy on his soul. The fact that our society has been taught that God is a fire breathing dragon, who is unsympathetic and looks down at a microscope from above is one of the many things that has led to the gender confusion. My question is why isn’t stuff like sexual morality being taught from the pulpit on sundays? The church needs reform.
 
Hi! We’re in Somerset County. It’s the township that’s nuts. We’re paying $6200 (soon to go up to $6500) for a two bedroom tonwhouse/condo with no land at all. We just bought a four bedroom house that we plan on moving into in September.
