I try and always do the right thing and thats why im asking this question. I recently applied for a new job and on the application it asked how many times I’ve been late in the last 6 months. My current employer isn’t very particular about being late since it’s a salary job so if I’m a little late for lunch it never mattered so on the application I only put 3 Times I was ever really late but I had taken over an hour lunch many times before but the employer never seemed to mind. I was concerned if this is technically alive since its not using issue if your little late and if I should accept the job on the premise of a lie or if its OK.

Since you were previously on salary, and really didn’t have a start time, technically you’ve never been late. So put down “Never”.

In my job, we were given 10 minutes grace period unless we called in and said we would be later than that. It was an 8 till 4:30 job. Also we could stay over and make up the time. It is a good question to ask because some people are habitually late. Our boss was fair as he expected everyone to follow the same rules. He also felt that if one was required to be there at 8, it wouldn’t be fair if someone else was privileged to come in later. He was strict in other ways but we respected him for that. In your case, being late does not apply to your previous job. Now that your ap is done, you could explain it in a face-to-face interview. (My opinion only). Good luck and God’s blessings be with you.

You could put N/A (not applicable).
Then if you’re asked during an interview, explain.
