Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any experience with the New Marian Missal for the Latin Mass? I was looking to purchase it possibly since it seems like a cheaper substitute to the more expensive Angelus or Baronius press versions.

I had an Angelus press but my cat decided to knock over a glass of water and ruin it, so its still usable but I don’t like attending mass with the pages crinkling from water damage!

So, any advice as to the New Marian Missal would be wonderful or if anyone knows of any used Angelus Press missals, that would be wonderful!

Thanks so much and God bless!

Landon, my personal preference has always been and continues to be for the St. Andrew’s Missal. However, I know that many like the New Marian Missal. In fact, one traditional group I know well sells only that missal in their religious book and gift shop and most of their chapel goers use it. I’ve looked at it and it looks good to me. I was thinking of getting it myself one day when I some extra money to spend. 🙂

The NMM is a less expensive product than the Baronius offering and is a good choice if (1) price is a factor; and/or (2) you don’t need the Latin for all the proper parts (Collects, Secrets, Postcommunions and readings are printed in English only.

The St. Joseph MIssal is without the Latin propers as well. Makes the Mass difficult to follow. I remember way back in 1960 when everyone had the SJM and many were on the wrong Sunday. Not only that but the translations seemed a little childish, for the lack of a better term.
