Hello everyone,

For the past 6 months I have felt really pulled into ministry with the passion for speaking, retreats, and bringing youth closer and on fire for their faith. Does anyone have ideas on where I can start moving forward with something like this?
Thank you!

Through the Net? Where are you from? There are so many ways…could you be specifically…

I am from Wisconsin but go to school in Minnesota. I have created a retreat and have spoken at several retreats and have falin in love with it and am wondering how to go about sharing it with others. Is that clearer? If not, let me know!

If it is strong, maybe it is a sign of a vocation. There are many religious communities (or consecrated laypeople) that focus on doing that. My community, the Legion of Christ, has a number of priests who focus on that ministry. There are also others that focus on this more exclusively.

You can also volunteer for a year to do this full-time (NET, Regnum Christi Mission Core, etc.).

If those two don’t seem probable here and now, get in contact with other priests or lay groups that do such retreats in your area and see how you could help them out. They are almost always happy for extra help. Theoretically, you could start on your own but if you are in college that would probably a bigger tiem commitment than you could handle and it is tough to get started if you aren’t already known.

Hope that helps. God bless.

contact the youth ministry office of your diocese, I think you said you are already working on certification, make sure those credentials will be accepted where you want to work. In this work, as in all other kinds of catechesis and evangelization, laity work for and under the direction of the bishop and pastors.
