Did your parish or church you attended this weekend have a blessing for the new Roman Missal to be used next weekend or a decomissioning ceremony for the old Sacramentary?
Yes, they blessed the new ones. Father said to bear with the priests because it’s all new to them. He said he was going to be “glued to that book” during the mass.
No, but in the UK we’ve been using the new translation for the Ordinary of the Mass since early September. Also my parish (and one or two others in my area) have already started using the new translation for everything else. So perhaps they felt that it was a bit redundant under the circumstances.
No. We didn’t have a priest with us this week and we also have not received our copy of the Roman Missal. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that it comes in by Friday, otherwise we have no choice but to keep using the Sacramentary.
I also know that in our diocese there is to be no ‘decommissioning’ of the Sacramentary. There will be a blessing of the Roman Missal.
